View Full Version : Mp3 players, which do you think...

Hey guys! :)

I'm actually planning/wanting to buy an MP3 player, but I don't know which to. I mean, I've actually been drolling on the iPods for a while, but now I see that they're not necessarily the best ones and, for what they offer, they don't necessarily fit my budget. It seems to me they're like Gibson guitars: they're not necessarily bad, but they make you pay for the mark and keep you from seeing the other possibilities (sheesh, I sure do like the word necessarily today). Okay, so, the one I'm thinking to buy is the iRiver H10 5GB. It looks very good and nice (hey, less expansive than iPod nano, more gigs -- what can you ask more?), but I'm afraid there might be a trap somewhere.

So, if you guys can give me any advice, show me the way to buy a good MP3... :heh:

Thank you! :D

JetAudio- iAudio X5L. It does everything; good! It lacks MP3 tagging though...

The iRiver players are nice, but the Docs only tell you about 5% of what they can do. Also the H10 series are locked down as a MTP (or the one that only allows you to sync it to transfer files by playlist) in the American verison (which makes me want to gag). It can be cured (involving a somewhat easy emergency boot), but it sucks, overall, for functionality. It's not all it's crack up to be, unless you get the International version, which then GO FOR IT! I'd splurge a bit and buy the iA-X5L.

btw, IPOD SUCK!!!! Why you ask? Well, I don't like Apple Computers Inc. Nothing personal, but I avoid anything made by Apple.

I use a Sony in-dash MP3/CD player and then my Treo for when I'm working out. If you want the best, go with an iPod. If you can't afford (or don't want) an iPod, look for the ones that are trying the hardest to rip off iPod's interface.

well if you like something close to the ipods, go with the iriver or rio nitrius. My friends and I have had badddd experiences with others except these.

iRivers are slick. The iAudio things have nice features, and apparently isn't very expensive, either. Me, I have a Creative Zen.

PSP! That plays MP3s, only problem is that is doesn't hold as mutch as a regular MP3 would hold unless you buy a bigger memory stick, it's a bit costy but you can do oh so mutch more with the PSP while having your song list on it. And soon the Memory sticks will be able to hold up to 4g on them so then they will match the Ipod minis and pwn them in the ear with the more things that it can do!
