Ummmm, do you mean Big Band and that stuff? like from the 1920's? If so, there is always the Entertainer by Joplin

Pachelbel's canon is only good if you don't play cello. ^_^

Are you looking for pieces to play, or pices to listen to?

No; Pachelbel's Canon... well, the Canon part is the cello. It plays the same eight notes for the entire piece, never changing rythem or tempo or anything. Just the same two measures.

Rather than a specific song, I would suggest Joshua Bell if you enjoy violin music; his Romance of the Violin features several cello and other pieces arranged for violin, and they are very passionate.

Robert W. Smith, IMO, composes wonderful band music. The Tempest is my favorite.

Ashitaka and San is a great song from Mononoke Hime. Its a bit moody (sad) but it reminds me of the 60's tacky feel for some reason.

Then theres The Legend of Ashitaka and Mononoke Hime theme.

~

Some good vocals are Radical Dreamer and Itsumo Nando Demo.

NOTE: all songs are Japanese. All lyrics are Japanese. I dislike classical music because I hate the 'feel' of the majority of it.

Im weird.
