One of my favorite games. Basically a keyboard version of DDR. Talk about it here!

www.flashflashrevolution.com

It has dance, arcade, classical(which are pretty hard!), and other types of songs. Oh yeah, don't be fooled by the ratings on the arcade songs. They're not THAT hard.

If this is advertising, I'm really sorry and didn't mean to break the rules.

I would not think this would be advertising, but yes, FFR is a great game to play if you have time on your hands, a fast computer, and a good internet connection. I have been a moderator on it for quite a while now, and I can't even play it anymore because I have a windows 98 and its much too slow to play... :(. The songs are a lot faster-paced so its a lot harder than DDR but they have a few really easy songs. I recommend everyone to try it at least once.

Ah. I love FFR. Great game. I think I'm better at that than DDR.

What's the hardest song you've beaten? (I don't want to go against someone too easy or too hard:heh: )

... It's just the lazymans version of stepmania... With limited number of choices, and your unable to edit the files to harder difficulty.

FFR has a constant scroll rate, so yeah, it can be hard to read at times.

Mies, FFR has some songs that you definitely don't want to make any harder *cough* Silence *cough cough*
Plus, FFR has online play, which sets it apart from Stepmania.

Silver Wyvern, I'll take you on :P
I can pass all songs (though I mash on Bumblebee, Silence, and Balloon Fever), get really close to an FC on Neomax, FC Stalled out and Sushi Bars, FC Song for the Nihonjin (my first 1000+ combo :P)
MP lvl 14
So I should pose a decent challenge for you, I hope :P

BTW, Balloon Fever definitely deserves its difficulty rating...personally, I think it should be a bit higher...

Uh... Maybe I should get alittle better...
I can't do the master songs yet... Only some of them...

Eh, all right. I can only do things up to difficult. Like Beethoven's Virus, or the bonus Yoshi round.

[1]FFR has a constant scroll rate, so yeah, it can be hard to read at times.

Mies, [2]FFR has some songs that you definitely don't want to make any harder *cough* Silence *cough cough*
Plus, [3]FFR has online play, which sets it apart from Stepmania.

1. This sucks massive [explisit deleted]; especally for the songs that depend on a varying beat! I cannot imagine playing some of the Stepmaina songs on that (du Hast, Becoming X, exc...).

2. :)... You always need to challange yourself (Once you can boast Uber Rave's completetion with a B or higher when on Challenge, then everything feels so... Simple. Modifing songs is almost a must if just to challenge yourself.) Not to mention you get the privilage to completely compile a song by yourself. If it's not out on the Internet, you can make it from a MP3/ OGG, and a few picture files (and maybe a little computer skills on making files).

3. .... No comback on that one. The one thing I have to say is good about FFR.

Yep. **Hinata** (now known as Miranda), I play stepmanina like a (pardon the pun) Maniac.

1. C-mods do come in handy at times, such as on songs like Max. or Vertex(^2), at least for us casual players. But I agree, that was a poor design choice on their part. I must point out, though, that they fixed it in FFR2.

2. I believe Silence is only readable by 4 people in the entire FFR community (I met one of them and was utterly destroyed :P). If you're one of them, then I apologize and bow to your awesome FFR/SM skills :). If not, then I'd like to invite you to give Silence a try and then see whether or not FFR songs need to be made harder. You're probably better than me, though...I can pass Max Forever, but not AA, and I've never tried Quasar...(this is because I don't own Stepmania...)
However, one of the benefits of FFR is that you're 100% sure that all songs on there are legal. There's a little bit of sketchiness involved when you're grabbing songs off the Internet and stepfiling them...

3. If someone could mod Stepmania to add networking support, that would be awesome...

4 (new). Personally, I believe this finger playing should be subordinate to playing with an actual pad. Not that I'm any good on a pad, but...playing with feet is the original idea, and it's basically the entire point of playing a rhythm game called "DANCE DANCE Revolution." Therefore, FFR, as a finger game, is meant to be more convenient, a sort of side entertainment...StepMania, on the other hand, supports pad play, so I believe that should be its main use. That's just me, though. I guess what I was trying to say is that FFR is much more portable than StepMania, and that FFR better embodies the idea of a finger version of DDR.

Check out FFR2 if you didn't like FFR1 very much.
