hey just wondering :sweat:
how do u no what time sig to use for ur compositions?
do u just guess or calculate or do u justhave one in mind when u compose the song? :huh:

If I have an idea for a song, I automatically know what key signature it is. I don't even think about that. I've only thought about that once when I was trying a 5/4 time for the first time which eventually switched to 3/4 and then 4/4 and back to 5/4 again.

btw, I think this is the wrong place to post this.

. lol sure ? also, depends on which TYPE of song your composing i guess too.

Well, if it's a mental tune, you tap your feet to it, and wait until you feel the next measure kick in. The number of times you tapped your foot should be the top number. Then I usually throw in a four on the bottom. :P

Another way is to start to punch in the numbers in your composing program, and if the a part you feel should be one measure doesn't fit in one measure of a certain time signature, you switch around until it's right. :)
