Well, I've only seen two episodes so far but I think it's pretty good.
Expected to be 26 episodes.
I'd give a summary of it, but I can't find a good one out there and I've only seen so much of it so far.

Shakugan no SHANA is a good anime. I'm suprised not many know about it. There are actually 24 episodes I believe but there is a project of an upcoming movie and maybe even a season 2. Everyone loves Melon Bread ^^

Yeah I agree with Meer. If you live near a Chinatown (If you're in the US) then you will see a bakery somewhere along the road :/ All the bakeries near my place had melon bread.

I saw it, and I was rather dissapointed in the ending.

That's because the anime isn't done yet. There's a movie in the works (unannounced release date) and a possible second series.

I though the first half made a really good impression...and it had great style and mystique. But I though the plot and mood just dissolved after the "flashback episodes"...

Yeah those flashback episodes were BORING. I didn't know what was going on at first.
Although it was kinda funny how the skeleton reacted when Shana hit him.

lucky little pr**k...

Honestly, it's not that good. If I ever purchase some it's because I like how it looks in my kitchen.

Kind of like Pocky then XD

Pretty similar, only difference is Melon Bread can have different types of flavors and be filled with other paste, only certain people will enjoy Melon Bread where for Pocky you just need to like chocolate. :P

Movie came into airing the 21st of this month. No current fansubs, but I have two PVs.

*had a shana set before*
she's always associated with fire, is she magical?

I guess it's because she's contracted to Alastor, the Flame of Heaven
and also the fact that she's a Flame Haze.

Only 4 days until Viz releases the first volume (http://www.amazon.com/Shakugan-No-Shana-Girl-Fire/dp/1421511932/sr=1-2/qid=1171976396/ref=sr_1_2/202-7262480-5762261?ie=UTF8&s=books) of the light novel.

Quite frankly, I'm not to sure about the quality of this one. I can't explain it well, but it feels like the mood that this series portrayed is pretty much only captured in the animated series. Regardless, I'm still going to buy it and see for myself if the novel does things better, as natural law states about anime derivatives.

Hmm, any thoughts on a possible third season? I think there will likely be one, but far into the future, maybe in 2010 or something. Since a third season would likely attempt to conclude the whole Shana series, and thus they need to wait for the novels to finish first.

hm.... I don't think that there will be one. Still have to watch the last ep. of the 2nd season though

Well, from what M has told me, Shakugan no Shana's Novel comes in seven arcs. We just watched the second arc. I would only assume that there will be then... about seven seasons of Shana.

If and only if the season before themselves makes at least three times what they made in their last production. I remember ANN talking about that when there was a profound amount of yelling from the end of Air Gear.

not that the manga's(never saw the anime) bad, but does anyone else think Shana's a hoor?

M
April 15th, 2008, 11:24 pm
If the above is a misspelling of Whore:
Shana's a Tsundere (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsundere), not a whore.

If the above is not:
I'm not all that well versed with Islam, but I do know that Shana falls into that category of holy. For one, Houri's are often referred to as the "perfect woman" with "perfect traits". Shana has yet to enter womanhood in terms of breasts, nor does she even come close with the overall size of her body.

The rest of the traits do seem to follow suit, though. I don't know. Perhaps its because the anime uses Japanese Mysticism and Magic (Buddhist-based, I believe...) that makes me feel like she's not a Houri.

@Porsche: I was soooo wrong with that number. There's 18 volumes en counting, and they're self containing arcs. So there's plenty of material to cover for another season. It's just a matter of budget.

Was about to say... 7 arcs seems a tad big. Indeed we're about 3/4 of the way through the current novels released from what I've heard. And if the author decides to end the novel series after this current arc, we may indeed have enough material for another season of anime. However, I'm not familiar with the financial side of Shana. Is it profitable?

Write in proper English, and you'll remove all of these frustrations which we older members call stupidity through use of txt tlk.

(ps. It's a rule to write in English as best you can. Txt tlk is not English, and to talk in it, you have to know English, so I suggest you start spelling out all of your words in the proper way ;) )

all right, i can take a hint.:heh: and it's funny how you tell me not to write like that, yet you write text as txt and talk as tlk. anyway.....

i've only read the manga for shakugan no shana. is the anime any different?

noun (tehxt torck) or (txt tlk): Uses: Mobile phones and MSN Messenger. The most annoying form of speech ever, more annoying than French. Widely ununderstandable, it abreviates as much as possible leaving a code which only the author can decrypt. Though it does help the author write it quickly, the recipient must undergo strenuous investigation to be able to reply in an equally confusing manner untill the competition of confusosity gets to such a point, that their grammatically incorrect minds explode a little more.

Common uses:
'lol' (Laugh Out Loud)
'c u l8er' (I am hoping to meet with you in the near future)
'rofl' (Rolling On the Floor Laughing)
'iyuttomiwgms' (If You Use Text Talk Once More I Will Get My Shotgun)

;)

As far as I know, they are the same story. But like all manga-to-anime adaptions there will be some minor changes in the story. ^_^

Agreed. But then again, I usually prefer anime over manga.
