Personally I don't consider adding a little percussion as a way to allow yourself to take credit for a song. You'll have to more than that.

Besides, the Treno song is annoying like hell and when typing this topic's name your shift key must have been stuck =P

Try doing some more with this song though, change some instruments, add some instruments. Do more with it.

I actually kind of like the Treno theme, and adding drums was a nice touch; however, they sometimes clashed. But I have to agree with Angelic. You should do more with it if you wan't to avoid looking like a plagarist. I mean, obviously you don't care if people know where it came from, since you told us about the old Mario music, so I'm kind of wondering why you're doing this. You're not really claiming it as your own, but you're not really changing anything either.

you have to understand something first:I found the difference between c and tr.for now,I transcript songs.I dont compose yet.and im not saying that i made it.But at least,I recorded it by the beginning,i didn't take it from internet,i put the efort on it.Let me do 10-15 songs like this, then I'll start composing.I need also the theory because from now,I can't even read the music:S.All the places I said composer, just replace them by transcriptor, thats the true thing.that was also my first question:remember this:CAN I EVEN CALL THESE COMPOSITION.In my first message,it was one of the important question that you should have clearly answered.I didn't began to compose yet.I need some more help to start on my own.for the first message,I had to say:my first transcription. My project that I'm working on right now is an arrangement,I changed many things in it.So that's it

Yeah, I picked up on all of that; I was just wondering why you were making transcriptions with slight alterations. But now I see that it's for practice.

You say that you learned the difference between transcribing and composing, but where does stealing fit into that? I found a midi file of this song which is exactly the same as the one you posted in your previous thread. The filename is exactly the same, the length is exactly the same. I don't think you transcribed anything, or played anything. Just added some percussion. Even I could do that.

The one on VGmusic:
http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/...eps_~_Treno.mid (http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps1/ff9_-_The_City_that_Never_Sleeps_~_Treno.mid)

Yours:
http://forums.ichigos.com/index.php?act=At...e=post&id=19315 (http://forums.ichigos.com/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=19315)

Check them. These property windows are for your and for VGmusic's midi files. funny that they are exactly the same ne?

dont say that please thats true that i did it the first time, but after I re made it from the beginning because it wasn't correct.now ill post a proof that i played it and recorded it,or listen to the 2 and you'll see a difference!stop that!UI'll never steal again!would you stop with that?do you know first why I did it!And after I was ashamed and I repaired my error so now please stop that everybody already knows!!!!!!!!this is treno in work, without percussion.

Wow, you cut out one track, made the other ones shorter and removed some notes from one of the remaining tracks. Impressive.

blazing_manager
June 28th, 2004, 06:26 pm
no,i didn't do that.take the original one,and my version then listen carefull. You'll notice some differences. Some mistakes too because i didn't took the time to prepare it.and you know,if you don't believe me after that I give up.It doesn't matter if you don't believe.1 people won't make any difference.I did enough to excuse me if you don't want to forget this bad story, then its your choice.Im not going to send you a film with me playing on,I don't want to play this game with you.I don't want any trouble

Angelic didn't say that you didn't make it. He said that that your arrangement was too shallow, you didn't change the original that much. You just added drums to it, that's hardly transtripting nor arranging. He critizised you, just swallow it and get over it.

Well, by definition, it seems to be a transcription...

(from dictionary.com)

transcription:

To make a full written or typewritten copy of (dictated material, for example).

Computer Science.

To transfer (information) from one recording and storing system to another.

Music.

To adapt or arrange (a composition) for a voice or instrument other than the original.
To translate (a composition) from one notational system to another.
To reduce (live or recorded music) to notation.
To record, usually on tape, for broadcast at a later date.

Linguistics.
To represent (speech sounds) by phonetic symbols.
To translate or transliterate.

Biology.
To cause (DNA) to undergo transcription.

---

Anyway. This guy has good intentions I'm sure; he just wants to practice his music skills so he can improve enough to start his own compositions.

He's saying that I took the version from internet and just added drums.but thats not true. You know that I fully replayed it.Thats true that I didn't very arranged it,because I dont have the time.I'm now elaboring my first real composition,so I don't really have the time to work it :) .

o.k.I'll explain it for the last time.I re-made the city that never sleeps because for my,I don't have the right to put something without any effort. For me,I had to make it to have the right of putting it somewhere.Since i didn't worked for it when I first post it,I told myself:you put it there? You're gonna make it by the beginning so.Then I added some percussion to make it a little better. Now,i am working on my first REAL composition. You're going to hear about it soon. :D

Also, you live in Canada so don't blame that you're french. I'm Swedish, I've never set my foot in a English speaking country, but I can still use understandable grammar, ne?

No I didn't. I just said you should use more accurate grammar, if you don't want us to misunderstand you.

Anyway, you shouldn't have posted that version of yours...not yet anyway. If it's not finished, and you only added drums to it...you can't really say you made it. Um...try to start over from the beginning. Don't load the original MIDI file and edit minor minor things like you did. You could just listen to the song and try to put in some variations and another style. Your style.

blazing_manager
June 28th, 2004, 11:05 pm
yes,it makes sense to me,but when I say I made it,I'm not saying I created it,just saying that I played it and recorded it,even if its the same version.Do you understand?

Noir7
June 28th, 2004, 11:07 pm
How do you mean "recorded"? Did you record it via MIDI in/out from your keyboard or...? Because this is the very same version as the one on www.vgmusic.com.

blazing_manager
June 28th, 2004, 11:11 pm
[Sthere is what I use:yamaha MIDI keyboard, out to soundblaster audigy 2 zs processor,I'm not using step sequencing, that's why sometimes I make some mistakes, but the version I posted yesterday is not the same as the one on VGMUSIC,because the one on this site has the right hand with more notes, and there is not any mistake, and I shown you yesterday when I was working on it!

blazing_manager: just a sidenote, please add a space after punctuation, like a comma. Also one or two spaces after the end of the sentence. It will make your posts much easier to read.

Sorry to be way off topic, but congratulations on being such a good female composer. I didn't realise your gender; since your avatar was Homer Simpson, I just assumed you were a guy. There aren't many of you out there. I hope you go far and encourage other women to study composition. I don't know why there's such a shortage, but keep up the good work.

Anyway, back on topic: maybe we should lay off our poor Canadian friend. I don't think he'll post anymore plagarism, since we went to such exstensive lengths to prove his errors. I think he's learned his lesson.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Noir is a BOY, a BOY. A MALE. I know this for a fact. Sure, Christian can be a girl name, but it can also be a boy name (though usually more for girls.) I've known him online for over a year, trust me, he is a male. I'll drop dead and sh** myself if he is a girl. He apparently put it wrong in his profile by mistake or for some other reason. If you look through his posts, he never refers to himself as she, but always he.

Anyways,blazing_manager, perhaps you should rather then just adding parts to it, consider replacing parts. Like take out piano and stick in trumpet, baritone, flute, and maybe violin or something(though the violin would have to be done well so it doesn't sound weird.) This way noone should have to lecture you or critize you, or anything else.
