The Evangelion Live Action Movie, whooooooooow. So, has any heard any new news on it? So far I know that the movie will be largly based off of concept art. (doi, they couldn't make a giant robot even if you told them how.) It is supposed to be released in 2007. Also, I hear they aren't letting Anno do any directing or writing in it, at all. 'Tis a shame

Thats just an idea. Ive heard from so many places that there is going to be a live action DBZ movie and Akira (ewww...) movie, yet no real sound of it has been released.

I think animes should stay an anime.

I, too, find it very hard to see a live action on this anime. I mean, it would have to use full motion video (green screen) for just about every scene.

They have been planning on making a live Evangelion long before The Lord Of The Rings first came out. When they saw how well the CG was on LotR they decided to go full force on the EVA movie. But that was years ago. I question if they will even get to this project in MY lifetime. But if you did a google seach on concept art for EVA then you with see that they are indeed getting ready for it. Word is that the voice actors for both the japanese and english dub will get a camo/walk-on role. (Can't wait for that!) I would love to see it but I don't want them to slaughter the reason why I love EVA. I saw some of the images for Tokyo 3 and I didn't like it. I'm a stickler to staying within boundaries of a tv show when doing a movie. This movie will not be like the tv show. (That's depressing.) I guess we'll all have to suck it up to watch this movie.

Well, I don't think there -should- be a live action Evangelion, which is odd for me, because I *love* cosplaying, but I don't think it's a good idea, there's... never going to be a *THE* Rei Ayanami, right? :S

Whats funny is GTO was a manga turned live action then anime. It could translate but unless its going to be a series I doubt it will live up to name EVA. Its the same with games and movies, the translation never occurs smoothly.

i think that a feature length EVA movie should be made, and that it should be released in theatres, but not live action, maybe computer generated, or animated, and definately directed by Anno, with the voice acters, or maybe as close a match as possible, from the original dub


I love Eva, and i drew my own eva, largely based on EVA 01 (it has the best head) it is the "true" Unit 05 in my fanfiction, and is classified as War Type.

Not really, CGI is nothing new, people wouldn't be impressed by yet another CGI film.

but it would be different for most anime, especially eva, which still looks brilliant, but in that kinda quality, it would allow detail that traditional styles couldnt
