I have been gone for awhile as some of you may have known, and i come back with alot of ppl asking to listen to this one song i wrote. If admin will graciously allow this, I will start a new thread (since the first one is inactive for 2 years). Thank you for your time and I hope this song will take you away on a journey.

Ahh... This song brings back good memories. It still manages to be my favorite composition on Ichigo's.

I would KILL for the sheet music to this song. *hints*

Good composition. A little awkward at some times, but great other than that. ^_^

thanks all!
I forgot to mention that what you hear in the song is me playing live. I hear alot of ppl play it off finale or sibelius because it is cleaner and organized. However, with all the flaws, odd tempos, and mistakes you may hear in the song, just shows that there is a human playing this with heart rather than a computer playing it reading zeros and ones. It's a suttle difference.

as for producing a music sheet. I'm thinking of publishing it and selling it. I've had alot of ppl tell me i should, so i'm thinking of taking it up. sorry guys. I may write more songs to put it on a cd and sell it to raise money for a band trip. hopefully it will be successful.

once again, thx to everyone who has been supportive.

I agree... I liked the old way you had it >.> Sounded more like a piano

This kind of reminds me of a John Schmidt song, although you probably don't know who that is.

I love it! It's...Beautifull. I agree with Deathraider though, it does sound a bit like Jon Schmidt. (Yes, I do know who Jon Schmidt is. :P He wrote "All of Me")

It does sound a bit Midi-ish though. The quality is kind of low for live. It is amazing nonetheless, awesome job! :)

Well YOU live in Las Vegas, so you probably would. The name of that song sounds so dirty when a male teacher says it like this in a 'sexy' voice:
"And now, Stephanie Egbert is going to play ALL of me!"

Edit: I forgot to mention that he was crossdressing at the time.

Anyways, we're a bit off-topic...

I do remember this song. I think I heard it like a year or two ago and it was good back then too. It's still my favorite on ichigos. Good luck on your cd. I'll definitely buy it.

It's really awesome. Do you have sheet music for it? If so, would you consider sharing?

I've said before. I don't want ppl to take it and say its their own. experience have taught me that. sorry.

^ That's cold.

EDIT:
Eh, your link doesn't work, but I've heard the song before. I kind of side with Shizeet, especially in that I don't think you can "copyright" something to an internet forum account.

In Shizeet's defense, I think Archangel is being more than a little paranoid. I also don't think Sizeet is into that kind of composition at all. Archangel's piece is nice, but it's pretty safe and genre-generic. From what I've heard of Shizeet's stuff, he works with more modern artistic theory. But this is getting a tad off-topic.

First off, it's Archangel not Angelic. Angelic is a totally different person and has nothing to do with this =)

Second, it's up to the composer if he/she wants to put his score up for download or not.

@zebra: Shut up. Archangel's piece is surely of high quality for amateur composition, but it's nothing special really. It is similiar to a zillion other songs, and it's really uncool of you to just bash someone who dares say the truth. To me it seems a little too protective of Archangel, but as said above, it's up to the composer and no one else.

It sounds kind of improv but I think its nice, btw im a big fan of improv music...

its like if you have two or three themes you can improvise on them and thats what it sounds like to me

and if youŽre still thinking of selling it you shouldŽnt bother, there is nothing that special about it (in protection of shizeet). though its a nice song I dont think anyone will buy it.

Like you said, it's up to the composer. No need to be a wanker and roll your eyes about it if you disagree.

What do you mean, disagree? It's my job as a moderator to kick your balls if you go against the rules. Telling "you're a jealous cunt" to someone who actually had a decent post.

Well the reason why he's protective of it can be likened in the following way:-

If you spent years working on a thesis, and someone went and photocopied it and stole your docterate with it, you'd be pretty damned pissed off right?

In the same way, Archangel doesn't want that to happen. Incidently, if you think he's paranoid, you wouldn't mind me taking your compositions then and claiming them as my own? There was a person on this forum who stole someone's composition from another forum and put it up in the composition competition. Fortunately, he was caught and banned, but it shows that this sort of thing can be easily done.

I have to agree with Noir7 in the face that although it is high quality for an amateur, it lacks something special. But to be honest, I haven't heard anyone on this forum produce something really special. There are a few who are quite talented, but we all lack something.

There are however some really nice points to your composition. The little phrase bang on 46 seconds sounds sweet. You'll always get criticism from other people even if it's an amazing composition. Some people only see the bad points and fail to see the good points. I can hear the "heart" you put in it and that's great. That's all that matters in composing.

@zebra - I suggest you cool it, I know that you think its mean of people to say it but I got a warning from a moderator because I argued with him on a similar subject.

Alfonso de Sabio
February 11th, 2006, 03:27 pm
I don't think his piece can be likened to a dissertation. But once again, it's his call if he wants to be paranoid.

February 11th, 2006, 05:24 pm
I was trying to recreate a sort of situation where you'd think like what he thinks rather than compare it to a dissertation.

To be honest, there's nothing wrong with being paranoid is there?

Enough everybody. Some people like the song, and some people don't. It's as simple as that, live with it.

Archangel
February 13th, 2006, 04:46 am
look, i seriously don't care what you think of me. I posted this up for only to see how many ppl will like my composition and to see if i have a gift in this field. In the end, because of this and all the feedback and ppl who rated it, I think it's safe to say that i have the skill to do this. I may not be the best, but it's a start.

Protective? o yeah, you better believe it.

Nothing special? in your perspective, i will respect that. Let me explain something: This song wasn't written out from thin air, it was written for someone i know. It was never intended to be written on paper, just played, until a friend encouraged me to do so, so i did, and i'm glad that i did. And yeah, ppl may not buy cause there is nothing special, but trying never hurt. If not this, then maybe in the near future. It is a dream set in motion to become reality.

For those who oppose me for not letting you have the music sheet, please respect me for choosing that, that's all i ask. For those who support me, thank you. I see the choice i made has made a little controversy in this thread. for the moderators, I apologize.

If you say that you want this music sheet but don't see anything special in it, isn't that a little odd? think about it.

I say listen to what you're friends would have to say about your beautiful piece of work. Amateaur work or not, it's a lovely piece. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to hear your next composition.

Or maybe in the band room. . .

...guess who, u dork! ^^ *hint*hint* im not random. wahahah.

I say listen to your not-so friends about your music, and you will get the most honest answers.

Archangel
February 25th, 2006, 09:22 pm
Well, I had this song rated by my (brutally honest) friends and they said it was great and other positive comments. I posted this up before this thread and got it rated, averaging about 9-9.5/10, and tied in first with another composer and his song. When i mean average, i don't mean only 5 ppl rated... it was about 20-30+??? forum members who i don't know (so i guess that's considered random ppl).

Guess what i'm trying to say is that it seems my friends and "not-so friends" or a better word is aquaintences have a consistant amount of good feedback relative to each other. so in the end, i took both advices and get the same result.

People, please stop the fighting! Composition threads are only meant to discuss compositions, not to fight amongst each other . .

Archangel
February 26th, 2006, 08:48 am
hehe, i'm just glad that either ratings from friends and ppl i don't know are consistant to each other. just showing evidence of that. nothing more.

Besides, both advices are good.

Anyways, like Al said, stop the fighting, for everyone's sake. let life go on.

Again, this song is for everyone's enjoyment to listen. comments are appreciated. they are worth their weight in gold.
