Now where did that system go, had so much potential. Anyone still have or even play one?

I've got mine, but it's covered in a fine layer of dust. However, simply because new games aren't coming out on it anymore doesn't mean that people have to stop playing it. If you want, here's (http://dreamcast.ign.com/index/choice.html) a pretty comprehensive list of all of the better titles on it. The problem would be obtaining them...

Dreamcast is one of the best consoles to ever exist, it had quality games. Another good thing about it is that you didn't need to mod it to play burnt games :heh:

Granida 2 was pretty cool on the dreamcast, same with shemune! I've been searching for one for a while.

Dreamcast was known for it's fighters.

Marvel VS Capcom 2 and Power Stone 2 were my favourites.

Theres still the odd release in Japan from time to time these days & a few projects are still going on for emulator & homebrew games on it so its not all the way dead yet.

haha i loved and still love the dreamcast. Don't belive no one mentioned Skies of Arcadia yet! such a good game

My roomates and I still play DC regularly. Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves has gotta be the deepest 2D fighter on the planet. Feels so good to pull off a just defend, feignt, cancel, super combo. Like ur one with the universe.

Plus it's SO easy just to burn games since the DC doesnt' even need a mod chip, just burn an image and go! best system out there

naw what killed hte dreamcast was the playstation. I don't even remember much piracy occuring during it's life. Only really got popular i thought after it died, cuz there are no more copies of real games out there (that and self boot images came out).

Self-booting stuff apeared way before the machines death & for the pirates contributed a lot to it, for the legal users it meant quicker emulation & homebrew fun of course as we didnt have to swap discs anymore. I do miss having the machine out though, Soul Calibur was fantastic fun when played with the fishing rod.

AHH i remember those. Still i think the best game was Skies of Arcadia (even if they did port it to the gamecube)

close second has to be Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves.

Granida 2 was pretty cool on the dreamcast, same with shemune! I've been searching for one for a while.

*just listed two of my top five video games* My dreamcast will never collect dust on a shelf! I like it far better than these new fangled machines. Sure, things are looking prettier, but I like the solid construction of Sega's last piece of brilliance.

dunno about Grandia 2, it was ok, but didn't really do it for me. Shenmue and S2 was a whole other story. Too bad no real word on a 3rd part. I remember when Yuu Suzuki was saying that it would be a 27 or so chapter series.

I also didn't like Grandia 2, got bored within 15 minutes of the game.
BTW, Shenmue 3 is most probably coming out for the Xbox360....maybe, I hope anyway :D

Here's a link, yes it's old news indeed, but I want to believe it.

Man, I hope that shenmue thing is true...well half true. I want it to be on PS3. I gave up on XBOX360. I was kinda dissapointed in the types of games the original had. Other than a few techmo games, every one I liked was a port.

I actually heard they're making a PC shenmue also that's like a side story. you play as a character in the shenmue universe like an MMORPG and occationaly read about Ryu in the newspapers.
