I just started taking piano lessons agian (dances in the inside) and Im thinking of getting a Piano or Electric Piano. Personaly, I would go with an Electric Piano, a nice one too. Full keys, foot pedals, everything. But thats just me..
So I was thinking that the people of Ichigos would know more about these things then me. So Im looking for a good priced Piano. I dont know my limit, but dont act stupid and recomend a 50K piano. Post what you like thats reasonable and Ill look through.
Thanks a whole lot :P

Well, electric pianos are generally cheaper, so if you're on any sort of budget, I'd reccomend you get one. Unfortunately, I don't know any particular piano that would be good, but I'm sure you'll find something.

hmmmm personally id prefer a proper piano. but then again maintenance wise electric would be better because you wouldnt have to keep tuning it

Digital Pianos are great like they say there's no tuning it's easy to move, you can plug earphones in for silent playing and most are midi and USB ready. You'll probably looking about $900 to $2000 range for a decent piano. Brands to look for are Korg, Yamaha, Casio, Roland. They're some of the most common. You could probably find a real cheap one at Best Buy.

It depends on how seriously you want to take your piano lessons and what kind of music you'd like to do. If you plan on continuing for several years and/or you plan to learn classical piano, go with an acoustic piano. It costs a little more, but that way you'll know what piano keys really feel like (though electric piano technology may have gotten better in recent years), and it will sound much nicer. If you're more into composing, arranging, and playing modern music in groups, then the electric keyboard, with its MIDI compatibility and preprogrammed instruments, will be the better option.
I'd recommend an acoustic upright, either studio or full-size, made by Yamaha, Baldwin, or Kawai. (Avoid console and spinet uprights. Those have horrible sound and are harder to maintain; it's simply not worth the couple hundred dollars you'll save if you intend to play seriously.) Those should go for around $3,000. If you manage to find a Boston or even a Steinway at a good price, then go ahead and buy one of those instead. Since this is a major purchase, like a car, you should do a little research before going shopping. Read up on what others have to say about a particular brand of pianos. There will be no-name brands like Sojin that will probably be cheaper, but that means the quality of the piano will also be lower. After taking price, quality, and ease of maintenance into consideration, you'll want to examine the touch and sound of the individual piano you want to buy. This is just a matter of personal preference, so try out each piano that you're considering buying to see if you like it.

Im looking for a quality digi piano. I dont want to go through the take-care steps a real piano needs, and newer digi's are getting really good.
Casio AP45 Digital Piano (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000B6IUBE/qid=1141359260/sr=1-20/ref=sr_1_20/102-1762796-0904141?%5Fencoding=UTF8&n=11969981&s=musical-instruments&v=glance)
Is that a good piano?..

Any way you can test it out before you buy it? That's the best way to see whether or not it's a good piano...

im a great fan of the clavinova myslef. Mean i can practice with headphones on and not hear what else is going on...but its hard to match up the the sound and feel of a proper piano.
If its just for you then a electric is good, and not as expensive. Go to a music shop and try then out or get the staff to demonstraight, they are usualy pretty amazing.
