Hello all, I'm fairly new to composition and these forums, and I thought I may as well start a thread to showcase some of my latest work.:)

I've been composing for about 6 months now and I use a demo of FL Studio to do all of my work. In the demo I have to finish all of my songs in one sitting (No saving, but you can still export midis) so some of my work may be a bit short. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.^_^

Anywho, here is a song I recently finished. It took about an hour and a half to write. Please comment on it/how it can be improved.

I liked the simple chord progression; it provides a nice backdrop. I'm not going to get exceedingly detailed, but the one major thing that bugged me was the choice of instrument for the melody. The pitch of those bells were somewhat ambiguous and made the melody sound off-key. I don't think it would be a bad idea to change it to another instrument with a clearer sense of note-value.

Not bad, but I didn't like the melody being the bells. I would have liked it better if something else had the melody and the bells were in the background.

Edit: oops, the prievious post was posted while I was writing mine.

I'll see if I can find another instrument in that case. Now that I listen to it I can see what you mean. Thanks for the advice.:)

EDIT: I changed the bells to an Orchestral Harp. I really hope the harp works decent. >.<

I just added "Song 15" to the first post. (I know, not a very original name. I simply number a lot of my songs because I can't think of a title.:P )

It is one of my much older compositions, but I like it all the same and I'd like an oppinion on it.:)

Thank you. :)

Your music is very good as well. I just got finished listening to Sweet Dreams, and I have to admit, it was a pretty sweet song. :P

Hey, what about me?

Sorry 'bout that. I actually was listening to Marlon's composition before she posted in this thread though. I wasn't going around and listening to everyones compositions or anything.

Anyway, the song (Linked in your signature) is excelent! I really like the chord progression. It's very...Peaceful I guess. I really like what it goes into starting a little before the one minute mark. I think that there were some parts that could have used a little more melody though. Overall, I love it!

EDIT: Crap, Marlon is a guy. Sorry about that Marlon, no offence.:P

Okay. I've just been waiting for someone besides Marlon and Maestrossetti to reply. They're always pretty good about it, but no one has listened to mine. I was mostly just kidding anyway, but thanks! Anyway, back to YOUR music.

Okay, cool. Well do me a favor and listen to the song I just uploaded (Please). :P

It was made about two months ago, and it was one of my first times writing a song with guitars and drums and such. Anyway, it is one of my favorites. :)

It's a nice and peaceful song. The drums could use some work, though. Good guitar, by the way. :)

Oooo...fun. I really like the guitar, yes. The drums are a little boring probably, but that doesn't bother me too much since they aren't what the song is focused on. The only things that bothers me are that the guitars are a little loud and the ending sounds a little cheesy.

Thanks for the comments. :) Yeah, that was the second time I ever used the drum and Guitar soundfonts, so it was very experimental...

Anyway, thanks again guys. It is good to know that my music isn't THAT bad. :P

Now, someone has to tell me where I can find those soundfonts!!

Keep up the good work, Blazing! ^.^

Thanks for the comments guys, I'll try to write up another song sometime soon. :)

@ Don Vercetti:

If you're wondering, I got the guitar soundfont from www.hammersound.net where they have a large collection of SoundFonts. To make it sound good though, I used FL Studio and tweaked the reverb to make it sound better. :)

Okay, I finally got something new updated onto the first post, XD. Anyway, It is a short piano piece I wrote in less than an hour, so it really isn't that great. (It's only about 47 seconds)

I'm bad with naming songs, but I decided to call it Beautiful Memories because I was thinking of my hometown and the times I experienced there as I wrote it. Comments would be appreciated. :)

Sounds like some sort of background music. It's pretty good. ^_^

That's some good composition talent you got there-I can sense it. ;)
