Hello everybody! It's my first time on this forum! I began to create music a few days ago! I'm looking for advice and critics, so here is my first one!^^ I had little problems of sustains, but I can change it easily.
PS: my english might not be good insofar as I'm french ^^" sorry

That's a cute song. ^_^
This is your first composition?

You recorded your own playing? Simple and nice, felt very relaxed after listening to it.(゚∀゚)
The composition itself is not bad at all.

I really like some aspects of the song. I like the way the left hand works, and I like the melody. My only issue is that the left hand sounds like you lifted it from some Piano Primer book.
Your English is excellent (or at least the little bit I've read.) Congratulations on doing so well with such a hard language! English can be a real pain in the butt if you're not a native.

thanks! Yes it's my own record that's why there are some problem of rythme and sustains. In fact I found a software which permit me to record directly from my keyboard. I can make something which sounds quite realist, that's also why I chose the mp3 file. midi files don't sound very cute ^^"
No it's not my first composition but it's my first record. The only problem with this software is that I can't make sheets. I bought all the hardware needed very recently and I did the following music after some days of intensive work (In fact I enjoyed it^^
PS: Yes, the tittle can make smile^^

I love the first song! :) The melod is very nice and the song itself is very flowing. The only gripes I have is that the left hand could have involved a bit more complexity, it is a bit too simple. The chord progression itself is lovely though. Great job!
Your english is fantastic, by the way. :)

That "hope can kill...a man" is nice and soothing. ^_^

Thanks marlon. But I really wonder how do you play the drums. What's your software? I would like to do something stronger, an active song like the lord of the ring or something like that. I have the melody but the problem is the drums.
Moreover even with a violin or piano, to put some drums behind can be great. You made some really good things!

I liked the chord progression on the second song, very nice and unexpected surprices there...
keep it up

As my left hand was criticised in my first play I tried to find something else. But I don't find something better. I agree my left hand is too simple and basic but it's hard for me to find something which make the music better.
How can I do if I want a kind of banner in each answer like Marlon and Rovski? It may be easy but I can't find it^^"

Just go to Photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com), where they can host your images. Make an account or whatever. Then you can use URLs. ^_^

Hi everybody! Since I made a new composition during the week I put it here!^^ Hope you will like it! it's not perfect at all but as it's one of my first compo it can be forgiven (or it can be forgave? ahhh... I don't know my irregular verbs^^) I didn't know how to finish the music so I think the end is really bad (repetitions, blanks...). The firsts violins you can here are not from me! It's a sample I found^^ you will see it's very very repeated (repeated? can I say that?:heh: )
ok I should work my english instead of doing such compositions!^^

This is some great stuff you have going for you! Keep up the good work. Do you have anything that is more up beat though?
Your English is pretty good too, a little errors here and there but hey, its only expected. One thing to clear up for you since you asked...
...you will see it's very very repeated (repeated? can I say that? )
Replace repeated with repetitious:lol:
Keep up the great work!

Ok here is a new one. You will see that the flute is not very good and as well as the piano. This one can be ameliorated. I have progress to make I know!^^
PS: I also put a little improvisation. I think I will make something around this theme so it's a kind of preview^^
PS2 (hum don't see any joke in it^^): I know the tittle I gave are not very good^^

Wow I didn't expect such reactions! Thanks! I wasn't very proud of my productions. I'm just proud of the melodies, that's why sometimes I think just piano would be better...

Hi everybody! I put here a new one! Not a very ambitious one but with some really good points I think (not a lot in fact). You will see my left hand is always the same. It's because I never write finish compositions on a sheet. And I never play really the same thing, even if the theme is almost everytime the same, it's a kind of improvisation... I know I would be able to do better if I write it properly but I do not have really the time for the moment.

Ok the last one hadn't a lot of success...-_- I put a new one here eventhough. It's originally for a string quartet, but I put a bass and even Brass because I liked it.

It's been a long time since I've heard something so beautiful and triumphant on the forums.
Great job, and good comeback.

what program did you use to write your music? The quality is phenomenal!
Lolive
July 22nd, 2006, 03:21 pm
sorry for my late answer... My software is called reason...(it's not free but you can find it cracked...I'm not encouraging you ok?) the point is that you cannot right any sheet. You have to link a keyboard to your computer and record by your own your composition. With your computer you can change the piano entrance (I don't know if it's a correct english) for a lot of different instrument already saved in your computer. You have also a lot of sampler to make your own sound etc...The advantage of this software is that the quality is very good and the instrument are very close to the reality.

I see, thanks alot, I'll check up on that. And I loved your new piece as with all your other ones. The fact that your sounds are close to real instruments just makes it so much the better!

Great piece, but I think there was a few measures in where the melody plays one [very close, if not it] to a Spirited Away OST melody.
I love it's tranquility, been a while since I've heard a nice slow piece with no repitition in it.

That's an amazing song you have there. ^_^ It's so amazingly soothing and calm.
It seems to heal the wounds inside someone. Sorry I'm so weird. :heh:

Well, I really didn't know it looks like a Spirited Away OST melody. I even don't know what is it. Anyway, my music is inspired of animes so it's not impossible. I'll download this OST and check it. I'll change the compistion in consequence. Can you please give me the exact tittle?
KaitouKudou, if you succeed in having the program, you can send me private message if you need a little tutorial. Because there's a lot of thing to learn, you might be lost in a first time.
(As usual I hope my english is correct^^)

Doesn't sound like Spirited Away to me. I wish I could compose in the way that you do. I have to compose on the computer with a program. I really wish I could do it on the piano. I just have never been able to figure that out...

I didn't say the main theme was like it, just a few measures. I wasn't accusing you of plagarizing, was more of a 'side' comment.

Hello every one, long time no see... I were to occupied this summer to check the forum or even to play piano. Today I played my favorite instrument...and a pause is very useful to clear your minds and make yourself escape to musical systems (= scheme. I hope you will understand what I am saiying :s )
So, to answer you, a bit late I'm affraid, you can do as well as me with a midi keyboard. The only problem is that you have to make no mistake^^ So you have two possibility, writing first the piece and play it after, or improvising around the theme you composed. It's what I do. I do not really compose but improvise...That's why my pieces are in general not difficult to play^^
But I forgot to tell you one more thing. With this software you would be able to open a midi file, and then put a different instrument to each entry. So you can write your composition before with any software like finale and save it as a midi file.
Of course it will seem more deshumanized. It's an easier choice but not better I think^^

Hello everybody ! I'm so happy I found new instrument sample for my software. Ah, in fact it's not really instrument but voices. Listen to this, it's not really a good composition but don't you think it sounds great ? I will try something with that soon.

Right there you lost my interest. -_-

September 5th, 2006, 12:15 pm
Sorry Noir7 but if you look carefully it's always what I think of my composition...I'm never satisfied and even if some people like what I've done, I'm the first one who doesn't agree. From now I've never succeed to make a composition that I can listen as well as I would listen pro compositons...and I never listened to my composition more than 2 times..
So I keep the hard work !
And even if I say the composition just before is not good, I'm working on it anyway, so it's like a preview in fact :p

Well, the fact that you said it wasn't good and posted it regardless shows that you didn't bother to improve it either, and set it up here just for the sound quality.
