Hey, I was wondering if someone could help me with my computer. All of the sudden this pop-up bubble in the toolbar where my clock is started to pop up this warning thing saying


"Your computer is infected!
Dangerous infection was detected on your PC
The system will now download and install most efficient antimalware program to prevent data loss and your profive information theft.
Click here to protect your computer from the bigged malware threats."

I ran norton anti-virus and it found no problems or errors. So I am thinking it is a scam, but I want to make sure.
When I right-click on the warning title thing (It is a window's update icon right next to my computer clock) it just opens up the Malware Remove-Spyware webpage for me to buy it. Can anyone help me? I ctrl+alt+deleted it, but I couldn't find anything. Help?

Looks like spyware to me.

It is spyware. Try running Spybot or Adaware and see if it comes up with anything.

I've had that problem before. Its quite a pesky spy/malware because whenever you try and close it it will pop up again within a few seconds. If scanning with spybot and adaware wont work, try and search on google with key words you can think of that summarizes your problem and hope that a solution comes up.

Bill Gates up to his usual tricks again. Run spybot. That'll take care of it. If it still shows up, it's crap, because nobody is more up-to-date than them. It probably wants you to buy Microsoft Antisypyware, which is okay, but spybot is more solid, a lot faster, and is more up-to-date. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html

Spyware generally has nothing to do with Bill Gates' tricks. Don't accuse Microsoft of things they didn't do.

I ended up just reformatting my computer... All is well again.
