I have a few questions:

1)Is it easy to play the guitar?
2)How much is it for a electric guitar?
3)How much is it for guitar lessons?

1) How long have you been playing?
2)What kind of guitar do you have?

1) Easy to play, but hard to play well.
2) Mine cost £200, but you'll probably get it cheaper (including the amp)
3) I have no idea, never taken any.

1) A year and a bit but this has been on and off.
2) Yamaha something. It's just cheap but looks good and plays ok.

3)How much is it for guitar lessons? I don't take. XD

1) How long have you been playing? A few months... like four, around there.

If you're looking to start off with a guitar, there are good kits that have everything you need to get you started. I suggest the Les Paul Special II kit, it coust about $430 AU.

1)Is it easy to play the guitar? Depends as everyone has said before XD Music Levels vary...
2)How much is it for a electric guitar? A cheap-o First Act electric guitar is like $80 for some sorta starter kit...but if you're talking anything fancy, try upwards of well over $900 and more.
3)How much is it for guitar lessons? Depends on who you see, and how serious you are about it.

1) How long have you been playing? Approx. 4 years now.
2)What kind of guitar do you have? A estimated $2000 Takamine acoustic guitar made from Mahogony and Cherry wood from Japan, I got it marked down oddly (only to $999 though XD) enough because the music place was trying to clear out some guitars, I was lucky. XD

1. There are alot of stuff that is really easy to play but sounds very good, sometimes you can play very sloppy aswell and things will still sound good, I mean it's not like things f*** up completely if, for example, you accidentally hit an "open" string in a chord where it's not supposed to be included. You still have those other 4-5 tones that will produce the chord. If you know what I mean. It depends on what you want to play really, if you wanna play rythm (lots of chords) or the "lead" guitar in a song (the main guitar playing the melody and solos etc). Sometimes things that sounds difficult really aren't, and vice versa.

2. The price varies from like $100 to $8000+ for a complete custom-made guitar. My first guitar was about $130 used, I got it on eBay. Only 1 year later or so I got my second guitar, which I also bought on eBay for $1800.

3. I've never taken guitar lessons, so I wouldnt know. But probably sort of expensive. You could always try getting some for free @ your local school or something. Anyway, there are tons of free guitar lessons on the internet, very for all degrees of playing and they're very accessible. I'm sort of self-taught but I'm not sure how much my technique has suffered beacause of it. Probably some but I do fairly well anyway IMHO.

1. I haven't played very long at all, by June this year I've played for 2 years exactly. My playing ammount for each day varies alot.. sometimes I play for like 2-3 hours, sometimes 30 minutes and sometimes I don't play at all. I play mostly metal lead guitar basically and I very seldom do practise excercises on the guitar but I can play fairly well anyway IMO. If you want to learn a song just download a tab and just play.

2. My first guitar was a Hohner ST-57, sort of a rare, well made strat-copy. It was a really nice beginners guitar. My 2nd guitar which is my current one, is a Paul Reed Smith Custom 24... mine was made 1993 which makes it worth a bunch more, but it's not really in top condition either. A completely new one of these goes for about $3350 here in Sweden. It's a lovely guitar though but it doesn't have to be this pricey at all to be a good guitar. It's probably not a guitar you'd buy after only playing a year or so, but I was convinced I wanted to keep playing guitar because I love music and to be able to play yourself really is a great thing. My guitar current guitar amp is about $1400 new, and to that you'll need a guitar cabinet with speaker elements, also a bit pricey depending on cabinets. But for a beginner, I recommend buying a starter set for like $150 which includes all you'll need (guitar, amp etc) or just buy a fairly cheap "combo" amp yourself which has built-in speaker system. They're very common. Also, you'll want effects like delay, chorus, reverb etc and for that you should get effect pedal(s). I bought mine for like $270 and it has all you'll ever need, a Boss GT-6.

I spent tons of money on musical instruments but hey it's worth every coin and now I got some really awesome tones out of my guitar and I'm really happy.

I don't think anyone can really answer the question 'Is it easy to play the guitar?' accurately because different people learn at different speeds, so for one person it may be easy while for another it may be more difficult.

And as for lessons, it really matters on where you're getting them, but at the place where I take violin lessons guitar lessons cost about 30 dollars per half hour.

- if you have very nimble fingers
- i would have to say with the amp its about i live in texas and mabey 800
- depends fully on ur teacher
- couple of years
- yasmin acoustic when i get better ill by an elctric
(i recomend starting with an acoustic and if youve played any other instruments that helps with notes and fingering)

It really depends what you want to play but solo's are actually the hardest things (for me at least)

100£ Because im in england ( yes i really am) for a cruiser st.

I play electric. had no lessons but you dont really need any just get a good book. Start playing tabs then when you get better shout woohoo i can do this but beware, your fingers will hurt when you start and you will end up with calluses but i dont mind myself. Guitar gives you a lot of satisfaction but the fingering is the hardest thing and youll need a lot of patience.

Been playing two years.

I have a few questions:

1)Is it easy to play the guitar?
2)How much is it for a electric guitar?
3)How much is it for guitar lessons?

1) How long have you been playing?
2)What kind of guitar do you have?

1) i think its easy to play any instrument if you view it as something fun to do, rather than a chore. so, if you find playing it fun, you'll be led to practice more, which will make you better, which will make guitar easier.
2) i assume you're asking for me to give you a quote, rather than how much they cost (from $100 to $10,000). so i would say you can get a really great beginners guitar for under $300 easily. my first guitar was a fender strat that came in a starter pack. amp, cable, and guitar all together cost around $200. the thing to make sure you remember is: you get what you pay for. my fender started falling apart around 2 years of owning it. so around that time i got my next one (more on that later)
3) i think that you shouldnt take lessons, so you can develope your own style, but since you asked: around where i lived in the states, you could get 30 min. for $15. and IMO, that's not a bad price at all

pt 2
1) ive been playing guitar for about four years now
2) ive got a gibson sg. for you guitar players, its the special faded. to the layman, its nothing special. its nice, i love it, it plays great, but its nothing special.

Okay, I'm reviving this thread...

I'm planning on getting a guitar for xmas. My parents said they would pay the first 200 USD of it, and if it were any more then that, I would be payin the rest, I'm willing to pay an extra 50-100 USD if necessary, but note this is my first electric. I have been playing acousitc, so I guess I'm a late beginner. I have my eye on a few models but I want to know a few things first. (And please, I would like information from people who actually play guitar and know about it. Don't go google reviews for me, I've already done that.)

I'm looking at an Epiphone Les Paul Special II Guitar, but I've heard that Epiphone guitars don't last very long and I was wondering if anyone knows anyone who has an Epiphone. I looked up and saw that many well-known guitarists played an Epiphone, like Lenny Kravitz but the one I'm looking at is only 150 USD so I'm curious as if Epiphone only does a good job on their more expensive guitars and just half ass their cheap ones. Does anyone have an Epiphone that isn't pricy, or know anyone who does?

Next I'm looking at an ESP LTD VP50 Viper. Many guitarist from bands I know use ESP and the guitarists for the band Atreyu uses a ESP LTD DJ600, so I'm sure this is a good deal. Though has anyone here ever played an ESP and could give me any information on its sound and quality?

I'm buying online, so I can't really get to hear it before I buy it, which is too bad.

well, you heard me say it once, and ill say it again, you get what you pay for. when you start getting into the $5000 guitar range, you can start saying which guitars arent worth the money. however, if you're for 100-300, you get your money's worth (if you know what i mean). the epis or esps you listed arent BAD per say, but i would recommend saving for a new electric in the future.
