hey everyone...In a lot of john williams' cues he has a large buildup of harp and timpani before his big themes and i can't seem to figure out now to do his harp runs for example in Across the Stars, before the motif he has a build up of cymbals, timpani, and harp. Itsounds like the notes run up and then down and then up and down again etc.
if i'm not making sense let me know.
thanks in advance guys.

yeah sorta like that...where it runs up and down..it's kinda hard to tell cause it's midi but i think thats it...it almost seems like a universal type of thing like when someone does it they use the same notes as another composer would when doing that.

I think he wanted it to come down again too. If that's the case, just make a mirror image of the notes going up.

I have a soundfont that has "one-shot" samples of harp runs (or glisses, as it's often referred to as). There's only four preset scales, though - two double-diminished ones, a pentonic one, and a sort of diminshed/augmented pentonic one (the impressionistic sounding ones). Here, I'll post a sample (sorry for the background sounds; those are my custom AIM notifications :P).

Could you tell me what soundfont this is? Here's hoping it's free.

Here's the file. I personally don't like it that much, since there's only so few chords, and only used it in one of my compositions so far. But maybe you guys can make better use of it.
