Following on from the previous thread, where we planned a meetup last summer but due to the London bombings which ended up cancelling it, here's a special announcement.

ICHIGO'S MEETUP WILL NOW BE HELD IN BIRMINGHAM.
Date will be: Saturday 4th March.
Where: Birmingham, duh.

This date was chosen because Angelic will be visiting me for a week, and we thought that this date will be the best, since it is the weekend. Angelic will be leaving the next day.

Meetup place: Probably Birmingham NewStreet Train Station. This is the main train station in B'ham, and with people coming from other places in England, the people already in B'ham can pick you up and make sure you don't get lost.
What we will do: This I don't know yet, lol. I suggest bring a bit of money so we can grab lunch somewhere cheap and cheerful, like one of the 3/4 pizza huts here (unless somebody has an objection, although Angelic likes Subway). We can look round the Bullring shopping centre, and maybe go to Forbidden Planet for the people wanting to do something anime related. There are probably other things we could do, but since I'm only a student here, I don't know much yet. *pokes Thorn*

These details aren't concrete yet, although the DATE won't be changed. We tried to pick a date when the wonderful Angelic could be with us, of course.

Please reply to this thread if you are coming, or if you're in England and you aren't coming. And somebody poke Maz too cos I haven't seen her on msn lately. Post any questions here as well. Thank you. =)

Count me in too! Brum is on the main train line down from Liverpool so no worries there ^_^ Oh, and Pizza Hut or Subway are good, I know you defo get a student discount at PH, think you do for subway too!

Yeah, i'll come. New Street Station is pretty big, so it may be a good idea to pinpoint somewhere there as a meetup point, like outside the newsagent or the burger king stand or whatever.

There's a lot of stuff you can do round birmingham lol, apart from bullring and forbidden planet, there's the oasis market for any weirdos like me... umm, there is somewhere we could just sit and natter if the weather is nice enough (sadly there is nowhere inside to just sit and natter unless you are buying food really.. unless you count the big blocks in the bullring).. umm... and if theres anything else people want to do/ anywhere people want to go, we can go and find it *nods* it should be fun.

as for food, im really not bothered tbh, although since you mention pizza hut, that may be better if there are lots of us because they have the meal deals and stuff so we could save some money?

Okay, we'll decide on where to eat later perhaps, lol. But it's great that at least some people can come, I realise this is probably kinda short notice, hehe. =) Oh, and by coming to the meetup, you agree by the following terms:

- If pictures are taken, you should not post them on the forum if certain people don't want to have their photos put up. (ie. Any pictures involving me and Angelic should not be posted, although thinking about it, that might change when the time comes.. I dunno, lol)
- Video camera should be fine, although again, don't post anything up without permission of the people involved.

Also some stuff to think about:
- Make sure you have enough money for the day (or a card so you can withdraw it from a cash machine).
- Make sure somebody knows where you are, in case something happens.
- Important: Make sure you have a way of getting back home!!

We'll exchange phone numbers and such closer to the day, and same with saying exactly where we'll meet up. Just gathering people at the moment. =)

Before lunch time. So maybe if we have like... half an hour or an hour or something, in which people will arrive, because of course not everybody will be there at the same time. Maybe between 11.30 and 12.30? It'll depend on when people's trains come in.

I catch the same amount of trains AND a bus every week. Don't complain, join us!

I took a quick look at the train info, apparently it takes about 2 hours from London to Birmingham, and there seems quite a few going on.. but I dunno where "London" is to you, lol.

london for me is abbey wood. south east london. hmmmm ahhh why do you always twist my arm. ok ok i'll try to be there and it's not a bad idea to meet up for us londoners and id say london bridge is the best place to do it

Doesn't look like I will any time soon :( I was more ill than I thought 'cause I collapsed in the bathroom this morning. Typically this finally hits home in my thick skull on the day no doctors surgeries are open >.< Waiting for NHS Direct to call me back, though I don't think it's gonna help much. it was pretty fun actually... not exactly much of a meetup because there were only 3 of us... and i'd already met Spoony, and obviously she'd met both Angelic and me, so it was only really me and Angelic who were new to each other. so yeah, i'd say quite a lot of fun, but would have been better with more people *in the nicest possible way*

Well, I'll be in GB this summer from the US. We'll probably go to Birmingham so my dad can remenisce...I've been there before. It's weird how in England, it's TK Max, but in the US, it's TJ Max...
