now it's my turn to jump on the thread-making bandwagon!
If you're learning a particular piece of music for your instrument at the moment just post it!

Ravel- Gaspard de la Nuit- perfecting first 2 movements, 3rd movement still in progress
Liszt- Transcendental Etudes- perfecting 3,4,6,11; learning 5 and 12- then for the other six
Debussy- perfecting 2nd set of Images, still working on 1st set.
may seem a lot, but i'm only actually leaning 6 pieces.. the others are just a case of going through and being picky with.

I'm onto John Schimdt's pieces right now, I just love it... Went to practice his free piece which is "All of me" and WOW... I am amazed at how wonderfully vivid scenery he creates in a person's imagination through his music...
Here is a link for his soundclick accounts wherein you could hear all of his music... Be prepared to be taken into another place...

I went to his website and downloaded the free piece and was fun to play and so... how do you say it, calming and felt to light...

A little tip about jumping on the thread-making bandwagon:
Don't get so excited about making a thread that you forget to check whether or not it already exists :)

^You'll learn to love 6/8 time when you've played in 13/8 time, and then switched to 4/8, then back to 13/8... >.<'

I'm currently practicing and learning Teardrops from Ah My Goddess. It's a really nice piece, but it's such a discouraging one also! It's easy at the beginning, raising my hope of playing a song I really like, then it gets so hard [for me, I never took piano lessons, LoL] as it goes on. And I'm not sure if I'll finish learning the whole piece! I always give up on songs, LoL!

Beethoven - Sonata in C Minor - "Pathetiq" (II, III)
I am so glad that I am finally learning this piece, and I can because I 'am good enough to try it! Anyway, it is intimidating for me, because just playing one year and trying this-SCARY.. just leave it at that.
Cherny - OP.849 : 30 New Transectional Etudes
Wow, Cherny knows nothing about chord progression I see. Heh, good exercises nonetheless.

...must...not...rant...
I "finished" Prokofiev Concerto #2, Mvt 1, though I should probably work on it some more, especially since I can't get even close to the volume necessary to get the right effect...
And I gotta make time tomorrow to learn ToS Fighting of the Spirit :P

I just got done with Omoi from Rurouni Kenshin. It was pretty easy.
I've been thinking about trying Green Sleeves from Xenosaga I, but I think I may pass that and learn it at a later date.
