View Full Version : New people feel left out?

NightmareVC
March 3rd, 2006, 12:31 am
When I first came here, before it got shut down, everything was very open. Every topic had something for everyone to talk about. Now, it seems like this is only for people who play instruments or those who have been for a while. Is it just me? I know other people seem to fit in, but what are we supposed to do when there aren't things that people want to talk about with us? Maybe I'll just say me. What am I supposed to do when I don't see anything ' inviting'?

Hey I had the same problem when I first came here. You just have to get out there and post. even if you don't know wth there talking about.

I second that notion. If you feel like you dont belong...then just pretend like you do. Sooner or later everyone will just ne used to having you around.

*kicks ashtray in the balls for spamming*

I'm pretty sure no one is trying to exclude any of you so just go for it. Make aplace for yourself ^_^

You're so cyberist from all us newbies *shoots Muffin before he makes it out the door lol jk jk* Seriously, if you feel left out it's only you're own mentality that's making you feel that way. Maybe when you feel this way, just state it out in the place you feel left out at. By the way I'm DiamondSeraph, I'm not really new, but I don't like to make people feel left out, I'll be your friend

Heh heh, sometimes I felt that way in the RP XD. But you just gotta get yourself posting if you want to make a difference.

('course, well, I didn't start posting in the main plot till hubby asked me to join, but...)

Pfft. Dude, I'm a newbie, about a month or so total spent in here, and I feel pretty welcome here.

It's all about how you set yourself up. If you post something worth reading, and that sticks out amongst the sea of non-sense, people tend to notice you more. Then, hopefully, someone will reply to one of your posts, and presto, you've made friends.

Rinse, lather, Repeat.

Maybe it's because of my openess. I like to just throw random crap out there. People tend to like it. Oddly enough.

March 3rd, 2006, 07:11 am
Er, but there /are/ topics for everything.... feel free to post whatever, and then I'm sure you'll settle in ^_^ peruse the forms a bit, and i think there are some threads that need to be revived...

If you still don't think this is the right place for you, it probably isn't and you can just get the *bleeping* *bleep* outta this *bleeping* place you *bleeper*

Please, take my sarcasm seriously.

i dissapeard for ages and it took me a while to fit back in,
it is welcoming here, especialy general chat (if they arent having a food fight :P )
just post and be hapy and if you dont gell or like it here then why drag urself though it all.
if your opinions on the subject are based on some of the higher level descusions in general disscusion, its not surpose to be a 'hi welcome to a deep discusion of religion' its what it says it is, a discusion so opinion can be argued and dissmissed.

but dont feel like ur being rejected

Join the RP thing. It's taken a considerable amount away from the general discussions and the like.

I had a lot of trouble reintegrating after a few months of absence because of the newbies that had sprouted up while I was away. I felt a little daunted, but y'know. Get your arse on the line and make a place for yourself.

Yeh i get what you mean. i joined quite a while ago....and only started posting recently so hardly anyone knows me, but it doesn't stop me from posting! These forums are here for you, and who says you can't start a thread of your own? Just try it, there's no need to feel afraid or left out!^_^

By the grace of Angelic, mainly!

Moonlight_stalker
March 4th, 2006, 04:53 pm
hm... i sometimes feel that with my friends too. But i think that's because i look at things too deeply... e.g friend doesn't say hi to me in the hall, n i automatically think she's not talkin to me cus i've annoyed her...

My brain is too active 4 it's own gd!

NightmareVC

But is it so much how many times I post, or what I post? Could it bee that the meaning of what I post is more memorable or how many post I have? I would rather choose the latter...

DiamondSeraph
March 4th, 2006, 11:09 pm
However, such a choice would be good for a test but who would one listen to more depth over remembering how much? Think about Oprah Winfrey against yourself, who would people listen to more? Someone who's talked more to the masses or someone with something memorable. Take note that even people who do talk a great deal still have the probability of making great statements. This is double trouble for someone without enlongated charisma. People link by memory, they won't quantify your ideas so much without more to rank it on.

We physically can't (well most of us). We live too far a way (most). XD

if anything id say its now harder for the older members to fit in. with alot of the old members gone alot of the new members seem to fit in with all the randomness that we've lost throughout the time here. so some of us feel outdated. Don't know why we still linger around here but we do.

Moonlight_stalker
March 6th, 2006, 04:49 pm
-pat pat Sephiroth- i'm sure your not 'that' old! ^_^ naa only joking, all people are welcomed here!
Though I always thought that the old members felt more comfortable.....

Old habbits die hard bro. I'm still an Ichigo'er for life (even if I don't post so much no more)!

Saying that, however, I refuse to say I'm old.
