That's because you need Finale Notepad (http://www.finalemusic.com/notepad/) to view .mus files.
EDIT: I need to read post's more carefully. If you already have notepad downloaded, right click on the .mus file, click on open with, then click on choose program, and then select Finale Notepad from the list's of programs that pop up.

Cylia, we all know about vgmusic.com, however some people dont have the program that transcribes music from midis. And vgmusic.com sadly does NOT have a number of midis for songs, so we need people with acctual skill to listen to the mp3s of the songs and figure them out.

Thats what I do but to transcibe a song from a midi you have to have Finale Printmusic or higher. Printmusic starts at $60 i think and Finale 2006 is $500

I'm in despair. I think there are a lot of people who know game Silent Hill by Konami. Music from Silent Hill by Akira Yamaoka is amazing! I want to find sheets of his music for piano. I have been trying to find something all last days, but the only thing I found was "There was a hole there" ("True") from Silent Hill 2. I want more! "Promise (reprise)", "Theme of Laura (piano ver.)", for example... And of course "Silent Hill main theme piano ver." from Silent Hill 1.
I'm gonna cry. Does anyone have sheets of music from Silent Hill for piano?? Plz, help.
P.S.: Sorry, if my English is bad, actually my native language is Russian.

I transcribe sheet music through Finale. I use midi's to transcribe www.vgmusic.com is the the best place for video game midi's. I'm very quick to make the music but I have a lot of requests. If you want me to transcribe something make sure I add it to my list of things to do. If theres a problem I'll mark it on my list. Thank you.^_^
I need a MIDI. No MP3s!!! I have no use for MP3s.
hmmm basically you odnt transcribe. you just get finale to break down the mp3's and then you take whatever essential treble or bass notes you need to create the song which is why you get them done so quickly. well your able to make alot of people happy so keep it up. its just not transcribing

To translate (a composition) from one notational system to another.
To reduce (live or recorded music) to notation.
Yes, he's transcribing. Even if Finale is doing "most" of the work, he's saving us from having to go and shell out several hundred dollars for a (legal) copy of Finale. That in and of itself is enough for me to give him kudos for working on these songs. Keep up the good work :) (just, er, remember that the vast majority of humans cannot reach double octaves/16th intervals...)

A: Never played Piano, have tried arranging... obviously it failed. I have no idea what is "impossible" to play on piano. (I tried to arrange "Stars and Stripes Forever" 4 months ago, and I started with the 32nd note intro... :heh: )
B: Strings are like fingerings (but I have no idea which string is what note). No idea what is impossible to do (like Piano). I also have no idea about the range...
I can't do PDF's (using Finale Printmusic- 30 day free trial, but even though it expired, it still works, excluding MIDI EXPORTATION (not importing) and Printing from Printmusic). Limited to fastest note=64th note.
For Tempo Checks, I use the Finale 2006 DEMO.

Yeah, he's got a point there. I couldn't find the music you were requesting on VG Music, and I need the Midi to be able to make the Sheet Music. When you give us those links to the music, it doesn't get us anywhere, because, for some reason, VG Music won't let you link directly to their midi files. What you should do is:
Find the midi you want the Sheet Music for on VGMusic.
Right Click on it.
Click "Save Target as".
Now to post the midi here, you first click "reply".
Then click on the little paper clip at the top of the box. A window should appear.
At the top it says "Upload File From Your Computer". Click on the "Browse" button next to it.
Find the midi file on your hard drive. Then when it appears in the window, click "upload".
Now just close the window and click "Submit Reply" and there you have it! Your Midi is in the post!
(I realize most of you already know how to do this. this is just for the people who don't)

You can right click their link and save it.;)

Sorry I don't know how to put it into PDF or GIF format...
I've said loads of times that use Finale's midi translator to get a basic notes and use that to make your music.
Use PrimoPDF (www.primopdf.com). The go to frint, pull down the list, choose PrimoPDF then press print. note: this won't do anything to your normal printer, if you're using it.
This program makes it a PDF free of charge. Hope this helps!

Hi. I've been looking for the piano sheet music for the music:
Decisive Battle - from Final Fantasy 3
And I can't find it so that's why I'm here!
You can find the midi for download here at VG Music (http://www.vgmusic.com/music/other/miscellaneous/piano/index-classic.html)
Yeah. I know there's also Decisive Battle from Final Fantasy 6 but this one's kinda different, and... I like it better! ... It'll be easier to transcribe since it already has an ending so you don't have to make one up.
And it sounds better. If you don't agree, download it and then you'll see.
If anyone can help me that would be greatlyyy appreciated!!!!! Thankees!
--And if it's already been transcribed and posted.... my bad.
Once you're done making it, please e-mail it to me at:vaerliyin.chan@hotmail.com
Thanks joo very much!!

You know, I keep listening to it over and over and I've tryed playing it a few times on the piano and it still sounds off to me. :\ Maybe the midi was off pitch. I listened to the midi and the parts that are off pitch are mainly the parts that sounds particularily like a synthesizer or are really high pitch.

Don't worry, with a whole lot of practice and a bunch of help from the nice people here at Ichigos, I'll eventually be able to sail through flawlessly on each one. (Though with G#'s I'll need to go get that cork pad replaced so it doesn't click, before I record myself...)(P.S. Complicated Key Signatures tend to be easier to adjust to than carelessly scattered accidentals.)
Thanks so much for taking this up for me, too, JediPumpkin! I've tried to transpose a few songs for myself and I'm afraid "The Roost" was the only one that didn't need endless tweaking, so I went and got that along with "Only Me" transposed for myself, by myself. <(^^)>
I find that switching back and forth between Finale NotePad and Finale PrintMusic is simple because of their own strengths in their tools. Anyhoo, I'll let you get back to your own thread.

I can go... Umm... The F that is 3 or 4 ledger lines above the Treble Clef (I believe it's the highest possible note with natural fingerings?) and I can go to a middle C because my B key is broken. For the 13th struggle, make it as many parts as necessary, as long as they're all Alto Sax parts. I don't know exactly how that will sound but it seems good to me. I have GarageBand so when I play them I usually just play the separate parts and edit them together.

Is Bari sax for the bass part ok? Its still in Eb or does it have to be the same pitch?
Rodents210
June 28th, 2006, 03:22 am
Actually I would just prefer if you just switched it to a treble clef and keep it a rather low octave, if you don't mind. I don't have a Bari Sax and my friend who does play it just moved to Florida.
Edit: Ooo! Really nice website! Too bad I probably will never memorixe those notes let alone be able to play them well.
Also, I just remembered that my "E" side key is all broken and stuff, like it won't go back on the hole and it's hard to move... This looks like another summer of repair instead of play.

What is GarageBand?
Rodents210
June 28th, 2006, 03:30 am
GarageBand is a Mac-only program, and it's very very good. You can record yourself singing, playing instruments, or whatever, edit the volume, slightly edit pitch, add echos or remove echos from when you recorded, and that's only as far as I've gotten to learning it. I need to really get rid of the sort of buzz-fuzz noise that the microphone picks up and edit that out if I can, and that de-humidifier in the background that I can't turn off is no help either. Then again that problem with my key means I won't be perfecting these, The Roost, or Only Me for a bit...

Suteki Da Ne - Piano
FFX Battle - Piano
Night Rider - Piano
Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire Credits - Piano
Wind Waker Credits - Piano
Aeris Theme - A. Sax
Dance of the Daring - A. Sax
The 13th Struggle - A. Sax
Forze del Male - A. Sax
Do you want The 13th Stuggle for a band or a solo? I can do either but the solo will have less depth. And btw whats your range? I usually use the full range not including altissimo (Low Bb to high F) but since were talking anyway.
A New Day and Decicive Battle are both compressed:( Sorry.
Um... Who ever said they would help out with some of the requests, you can do the piano ones if anyone has the time.
Well boo. I really wanted that one. Oh well.
Well then I got another request: The End, from Pokémon. Again. -_- Yeaa well whatever. Hey I said "well" four times. Five times now. Cool.
EDIT: WAIT I WILL ATTACH THE MIDI WHEN I FIND IT WAIT WAIT MAN

Mappy is a really, really old Namco game about a mouse stealing furniture from a house full of cats. That was the song that constantly played through the whole game.

I just wanted to take a stab at transposing, so here is Battle of the Holy!
Edit: Methodx - What instrument did you want that for again? I might be able to try doing it...
Edit 2: I tried putting it on piano. I don't know if that's the instrument you wanted or not, but that's what I put it on, so...
Edit 3: I'm not an expert, but I don't think it matters that Decisive Battle is compressed because it's a piano solo anyway...? It just looks really hard. I attached it.
Also, I just am posting whatever Finale pops out for "A New Day" because I'm not going to go out of my way to make 2 treble clefs for some of the complications. Whatever, just play it if your eyes and hands can act that quickly. I play woodwind, so no chords, so I wouldn't know. :P
Update: Fixed "The End." The others sounded alright to me, so I didn't redo them.

Um, hello? *I'm new at this! >_<* I was just wondering if you could transcribe the piano version of "Destiny Islands" from the Kingdom Hearts II soundtrack. It's a slower version than the original and a very beautiful piece. I don't know where to find it though. Thank you! =^_^=

You can find it at SquareSound (http://www.squaresound.com/games/kh/arrangements/joshbarron_destinyislands.html) but I don't know if that is the right version that you want. :/
You have to download a plug-in too but it is worth it because the guy that transposed it makes good arrangements so it's worth checking out his other works.

I have been playing for 8 years so far, I have played the Baritone for 3 and the Soprano for 1. ^_^ I am quite impressed with the collection of music, and now I come with a request.
I would like 3 songs, you can take your time, no need to rush at all.
- Her Last Breath from Phantasy Star IV for Alto Saxophone.
- Dwarves Tunnel from Shining Force II for Piano.
- Town from Shining Force II for Piano.
Here is the link for the 2 Shining Force ones, then there is the attached file for Phantasy Star IV.
