What sad violin pieces can you recommend? I've been expereicing some difficulty in finding Violin pieces that can be deemed as sad or moving. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Well, there's Bach's air from his suite no. 3 in D major, which I've always found to be rather sad and moving and has violins in it.

I, for some reason, think that "When Somebody Loved Me" from Toy Story 2 was sad and it's nice to play. Makes me want to cry:cry:

Most of Sarasate's Ziguenerweisen is sad, I guess you could say, if not simply thoughtful. Only thing though, is it's one of the hardest violin pieces out there.

I doubt it sounds sad, but it's moving.

Beethoven - Violin Concerto in F Major - "Romance"

Very beautiful, but like I said-it might not be sad.
