zomgwtf, what happened to the other Oblivion thread? I remember it was around here somewhere but only found Morrowind threads. x_x

Anyways, anyone got it yet? I'm thinking about purchasing it tommorow for the PC, I'm just worried I wont be able to run it very well.

I think it recommended an X800 ATI and like 1G of ram.
I've got an X700 and 2G of ram. XD

I have it for xbx 360.

godly.

godly.

character races and classes are pretty much same, but sooo much new stuff and it's so damn gorgeous.

and of course, you get to ride horses <3
they cost maaad gold, so i ended up killing the owner of the stable and stealing a horse.
not smart.
horses that you buy always come back to you, while stolen horses randomly walk away when you get off...

and a LOT of new enemies.
There are like, 5 or 6 classes of dremora, based on level.
Also, the introduction of wraiths. I.hate.those.things.
Goblins and vampires are back of course.
Goblins have new classes though. I got pretty much pwned by a goblin shaman in the beginning of the game.
and of course, minotaurs.
They excite me. Never ran into one yet.
You can still become a vampire, but no werewolves (_ _)
Combat system is tweaked and pretty much kicks ass.
Oh!
Most, like, skills have classes now w/ diff. abilites for each class,
ex:
Say I pick marksman as a skill.
I would start off as an apprentice or something, which loses fatigue for holding a bow back.
The next level higher would take no fatigue to hold a bow back
The next level wold be able to move faster while holding a bow,
etc.
and the master class would be able to paralyze a target with a shot.

Vampires now have a charm ability.
So it doesnt totally suck to be one.

Night-eye spells now make you see blue instead of green.
No levitation spells anymore.
x_x

Anyways,

this.game.is.god.

Does the traveling system work well? I'm not very interested in using the map to teleport all over the place. x_x

Morrowind is like the most boring game I ever played, including Windows' minesweeper and Solitaire. Not my cup of tea, at all, so I'm not gonna bother with this new game.

Oblivion's traveling system pretty much the same as Morrowind..

it's not random "click on a spot on a map and teleport there". You have to either walk everywhere on the map, ride horses, or use public transportation.

I can understand that, several of my friends weren't very interested in Morrowind, mainly because some parts of the game were poorly made. I'm just hoping they've improved that in this once.

Sounds good! :)

Well, with Morrowind, it was boring and repetetive after a while because there were only a small variety of enemies, combat was repetetive, and teh enemies were far too easy to kill.

With Oblivion, a lot of the beasts you run into are actually hard. And the tweaked combat is pretty awesome. Now, you actually kind of fear running i nthe wilderness by yourself or sleeping in the wilderness.
However, there are still the easier enemies around, like rats and lower class goblins.
Also, theres a new compass you get on your main screen while questing!
The map you have is mostly for telling you where you are. where towns and cities are, and what direction you're heading. Besides that, the map doesn't do anything much..
So with the onscreen compass, you don't have to repeatly go to the map for direction.

The birth signs and whatnot are all back, but when picking a character in the beginning, you can actually format how he/she/it looks like; unlike Morrowing, where they had pre-made formats that you could select and combine.

This game can go to fucking hell. I can play FEAR, CS: S, COD2, FFXI without a DVD Drive but I can't play this fucking game. It doesn't even mention in the requirements that a DVD drive is required, they just expect everyone in the world has one. <_<

I knew a long time ago my comp. would be too crappy to handle this game in almost every aspect, so I bought 360 a while ago.

My computer meets the requirements, except for the DVD Drive which I had to spend another 60$ on. =_=

Stuff like the DVD drive usually should't matter, just that loading will be a bit slower if you have a slow drive.

FFXI Requirements said that I needed a DVD drive, but I didn't. Requirements for Oblivion didn't say I needed one, but I did, it wouldn't read the disc without one.

(installing now)

E- okay.. I'm having some weird problems with voices, everyone sounds.. really high pitched after the little fight in the dungeon with the guards and rats.

Morrowind was fun and I got sucked in, but the story was really slow to develop and when I was only about 1/4 way through the story I was already powerful enough to beat the end boss with my fists.

I would buy Oblivion but I know $1000 of computer upgrades will follow so I'd better wait until I have more money :(

my friend has it (and beat it 2 times through) and ive played it a bit for the 360, its good but it loads to much and its kinda laggy for some reason. theres a few glitches with the items to... ( 1 is that if u set an item on a chair and sit on it the item will shoot out from under u, and u can protect urself by holding an item, around the size of a shield or a shield, not equiped, and u wont get hit until u drop it:\ )(sometimes doesnt workx_x )
