YES! Now that was an exelent piece of information! The dream has come back, and looks by far sharper than the original back in 2002. My hat is off for Key for remaking this.

Physical proof of why Kyoto Animation is my favorate studio. Beautiful. It also looks like the production team is going to do Kanon some justice and make it a full 24 episode series.

...

I DON'T WANNA WAIT A MONTH LONGER!!!

Wait, they're making it longer?

I watched the original, but I don't remember how many episodes it is.

The original was 13 episodes done by Toei Animation (Air Master, One piece; they did a horrible job on this anime). A major issue with the recent KEY animations (the maker of the original visual novel) is that they compress a huge story into small 13 episode containers. Both Kanon and Air suffered horribly from that. I can't wait to see just how this turns out.

Did the character design change from series to series? I cant really tell from pictures...

*M sure likes the giant-faced-girls, peices of life animes :P*

Looks like a wonderful series.

Wow...I saw the original Kanon...the beginning was nothing special, but I was absolutely blown away by the twist they put in towards the end. Put that with the Air-style animation, I can't wait to see how it turns out. Hopefully the extra episodes won't be filler...but at least they used Last Regrets for the opening :)

Uguu~is equal to Gao~. The first epi. of Kanon(2006) was great. The animation was off the hook, the charaters i saw was so crisp and clean. If you just looked at the eyes you could tell its the same people that done Air. They have done a great job and i hope they keep going in the way they are going or get better. Also, i like how they showed everyone within the first epi.

SS and Eclipse released this very fast and within good quality.

I have to say, since I know the stoires outcome, I cried about 4 times in the first episode.... The art is beautiful, the revamping of the story was done well. I can't wait 'til next week...

Wow, I'm surprised that no one has really posted about the show in a while. I must say, they gave Mai's arc the glory it deserves unlike the first Kanon. They made Mai so much more lively and likeable. The high point for me was the dance that is until epi 14. I replayed the end part over aleast 8 times when I watched it. Here is a pic from the end of 14 to show off the great artwork they did. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f10/zhood77/SS-EclipseKanon-14XviD61B4DB42.jpg
Also, the Makoto arc was even sadder with the "I want to get married to you" thing I was so close to shedding a tear when that arc ended.

Its legal to watch this streaming off the internet/download, right? Or was it copyrighted or something already?

M
January 12th, 2007, 05:40 am
It's always illegal. It's copyrighted by Key and Kyoto Animation, but they arn't American; therefore it's not copyrighted in america, yet it is. See the complexity?

There's a better description in this thread.

A good rule of thumb is that if you can find it on a.scarywater.net or animesuki, it's highly unlikely that you'll have legal problems, if any at all.

But that doesn't make sense. If its copyrighted in Japan its illegal in America. But though its copy righted, if its on either of the two sites its okay to pirate?

It's copyrighted in Japan, but Japanese companies often don't mind fansubs because if it's not fansubbed the people outside Japan won't see it anyway, so it wouldn't make a difference to them. Outside Japan it's the American companies who dislike fansubs.

because they want all the money they can get from cheapening the anime...rather than just keep the original...
but this i actually wanna see, i liked the first one time to see if the new one is any good

Lol, I got like the latest start of all.

I didn't even know of Kanon's existence until this year. And I only started watching at the very end of July, I think.

Loved it though. Makoto made me cry. And Shiori. And I almost cried when...

Sayuri got attacked by the "demon."

I was like OMG NO WAY. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO KILL SAYURI.

BIZNITCH.

*pops up in more random threads* :]

Without Everyday Chatter, everybody is trawling the other threads to look for more e-interaction.

Starwind's been alive for a while, I think. I remember seeing him/her in other threads lately. The leaky memory won't tell me which ones though.

I just finished Kanon 2006 last night. I shed manly tears. Manly I tell you! In my opinion it's better than Air.

In other news, Kanon 2006 is now licensed in America by ADV Films as of September 21, 2007. http://www.animesuki.com/licensed.php?browse=gk#446
