Well, I've been arranging and composing for a while now, but only recently have I gotten to a point where I feel comfortable posting these compositions/arrangements on the web.
The first, 'Infusion', is my electronic music class composition, and the second, a piano duet of 'Compression of Time' from Final Fantasy VIII, sounds better played live, but no recordings yet.
Well, enjoy.

I like Infusion ^^ It seems a little bit too long though, especially since it uses the same chord progression throughout. Then again, that may be just me, since I'm not fond of variations on a theme...

Yeah, sorry about that :heh:
It had to be as close to 6 minutes as possible. And so... thats how it happened :P
Here is another one that I just fixed up a little. Its basically looping game music, but I only looped it twice for the sake of listening to it.

Ooh, Infusion is nice. I don't find it too long at all, there's a lot going on and it had some surprising changes in the mood. Only thing I have to say is, that, in the beginning the "clashing" sound is too distracting, perhaps if you'd shift the balance more in the middle, or make it softer? Other than that, I really liked it.
Peace at Last is aptly named. A cute, sleepy little melody. I like the descending bass line (actually, I love descending bass lines); and when the strings emphasise this, it's just beautiful.
Like your style. Wondered when you'd start showing your work ever since your contribution to the chain compo, back then. :)

I like infusion, especially the introduction. I am not sure of the instrumentation, though. But overall, a very good job done!
Peace at Last, I agree with dawnstorm that it is a cute sweet piece, a very good game music. I like its simplicity and the ostinato going there.

@Dawnstorm: Infusion was alterered many times from how I really liked it to fit marking criteria. As in, there wasn't any percussion in the introduction other then a snare in the brass section. But I had to add it in, and it didn't sound too bad. I agree that parts needed to be softer, but some instruments just didn't come through unless I stuck them loud. The intricicies of the MIDI format...
@miem: Yeah, the intrumentation is a little off with the instruments playing together, but I throught it sounded decent enough, so I left it as is. I think that I could've made some of the flute parts etc. into more brass, but it sounded... well, good enough.
Thanks for the feedback! It makes me feel like writing more... :heh:

The intricicies of the MIDI format...
Yeah, not to mention that midis sound different on each sound-card (or software synthesiser). That could be an effect of my soundcard, really. :)

Overall, I think Infusion was a Good song. Though the instruments totally changed with the synth and bass-lines with drums - no offence, but it came across a little cheesy x_x - I'll listen to the other ones in a bit! ;)

Yeah, i was out of ideas early on, so I just added in something completly different. It does sound a little cheesy, but It could have been worse. Especially if I hadn't have changed any of the instruments into real ones and just left it with 4 synths in that section. Thanks for the feedback

Eww... Change the violin into a cello, please. It's been bothering me since it entered. The song's great, but the that violin really brought it down. At least you put in that... whatever instrument that was, some wind one (an oboe or something? Me no know about instruments very much... :heh: ).
Overall, it's pretty damn good. Keep it up! ;)

In which piece and in which part? I'm lost in my own 3 compositions :heh:
Yeah, it was two oboes. Well, one was a Cor Angles, but MIDI can't tell the difference.

In infusion at 2:29 it kinda reminded me of phantom of the opera. Especially when the notes go down so, im not cutting you. Because you changed it and i dont think you know it sounded like phantom of the opera but it does. And I loved it so be very happy.

Thanks. It did sound like that. Supposedly I just ended up writing game music according to all my friends, so its nice to hear that it sounds like musical... music. If you catch my drift

Actually, it doesn't sound like PTO much almost at all. You've must of been thinking of the song that's why.
Yea, with the notes going down.. but really it doesn't sound like it that much.

I can see the connection to phantom of the opera, but it is so minor you shouldn't worry about it.

I dont think Tasmanian expressed the whole song but for that glimpse of few notes it makes me too think of phantom of the opera.

Hey all, its been some time.
I have a new composition or two from the last, well, year...
The problem is, still trying to work out how to post them, as they are mostly well over the 5mb limit on mp3 files
