Interesting pieces. They do kind of sound unfinished, but I like the general moods they give off. It's somewhat restrained, but still effective, or something like that - but yeh, you write in a fairly distinct style. The only thing that kind of bothered me is that all the recordings are kind of soft - try normalizing them before putting them out in the future.

As for "guides" on writing fast music, I don't think such a thing really exists. What I've done is to sort of study how other people write in a certain manner which I may be deficient in and try to incorporate it in my style. Though in my case, I have trouble writing slow music as opposed to fast music ;).

Yeah i agree, i use GPO with Finale and i have the ambience turned up WAY TO HIGH. The string ensemble didn't sound "strong" enough. I'll mess around with the velocities. Yeah thats what i'm hoping for as far as a distinct style goes, I'm just sorta really starting and i want to define my style. Is there a link to your pieces? I'd really like to hear some of your compositions and learn a thing or two about faster music. thanks for the reply.

*hisss* I keep my tricks o' the trade to myself! Hands off!!:bleh:

J/p :P - you can find the thread with my namesake near the top (as of now) of the board. I wouldn't recommend you take what I do as is, though - sometimes, it's done in good taste; other times, it's just plain erratic ;).
