Now just one second... Let us think objectively for a second. The game size is tiny, if we redevloped the system now, it could fit in your hands. The value of the games are unmeasurable, and they are still being re manufactured today.

Sure, "kickass" graphics and sound are impressive and all, but what lies in the heart of any game is the gameplay. Atari 2600 will never be topped in that factor.

Think about it for a second: Do you know what the game Pong is? Of course you do; every gamer does. Another game is Kaboom. You have a dial controler and you try to catch bombs before they hit the ground. Would game developer be able to produce anything this simple in this day and age? No, the producers don't think simple anymore. They try to make the games so complex so that people that talk about them seem superior to others by using phrases from FFVII or the twisted move names from Soul Calbur II.

Look at it this way: if we didn't have the Atari 2600, the XBox XXX, nor the PS whatever-number-they're-on wouldn't exist. It's the father to all the console world (except for the PONG system, which was the very first "game at home" system). It is said that you should respect thy mother and father.

So yes, I do believe the Atari 2600 is the best system out there.

i also would like to retort: back in the day, the makers of games had to focus on making the game as great as possible, with as little as they had. nowdays, (stereotyping here, but maybe you'll see my point) a good game is a re-invention of an old storyline, then to make up for it, the developers will throw in a "bullet time" feature to keep you entertained. /retortion
