-- or Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu.

This anime definately makes it into my top 3. Even though the first episode was a little confusing I loved the humor. XD

13 or around there, IIRC.

I know I'm not alone in saying that this is the most popular series of the season.

Haha, I know people who actually learn the dance steps =)
At first I was put off the anime by the first episode, it was... weird, and I didn't think much of it. Then I kept watching (forced by brother since he kept complimenting it and saying how great it is) and it became better. Feel sorry for mikuru~

I hear that there will be 14 episodes in the series. There are posters for this anime everywhere in Akiba, so it's quite popular in Japan. It's done by the same people who did Full Metal Panic and Air. I love how it pokes fun at other animes and games.. Kyon's narrations got my attention, and I'll certainly see this one through.

After finishing this series, I feel that I want more episodes XD
it's really funny but the episodes not being in chronological order made me use my memory to connect the episodes once the next part has been shown, but overall it's fascinating!

On a sort of related note to the thread, since this is about Suzumiya Haruhi and her story, I want to establish the SOS Brigade, Ichigos Branch! First, I'm looking for people who are interested in joining XD

did you guys watch it according to haruhi's counting of episodes or the guy's episode counting? ( before the preview of the next episode haruhi says like 'episode x' then the guy corrects her)

@p-chan: I watched it according to Kyon's order, because the ending in Haruhi's order is boring

@Meer: I'm way ahead of you XD

Wow. Just wow. That's all I have to say about this anime.

Okay, I lied. I have a lot to say. The first episode is kinda confusing, because it's actually an episode from the middle of the series. They mixed up the order. If you want to watch it chronologically, listen to what Suzumiya says at the end of the episodes.

This is one of those animes that you watch, cry with laughter, watch it compound continuously, and then go, "Man, that was awesome". The story is quite mixed up for reasons above, but it is still constructed quite nicely. There were only two things that were never really explained. One was the first opening scene that was placed from out of nowhere. Another was the green haired girl that came from a similar place. Other than that, the episodes kept my interest throughout the series, and I want to watch it again from up-tempo, yet off-beat pace it emits. It's School life comedy; with aliens, time travelers, and espers. And it was done in such a way that it works. I only wish that they could have elaborated on the relationships a bit more, and spent some more time on developing the Melancholy saga, offering the always hilarious FMP? Fumoffu-like interludes.

Kyoto Animation has once again reaffirmed my love for their art. Everything was drawn out nicely, with just the right amount of attention to detail, often times leaving me drooling. Even though Kyoto retains it's "Alien Eyes" syndrome, the way they give the eyes depth is utterly beautiful.

I am required to make note of both the opening and ending animations to this series, not because of obligation, but because of it's originality. It is choreographed. That's right. It makes you want to watch them over and over again just to see the routines the characters go through. The songs were very catchy. Win-win. Episode 10 had two rock insert songs that made me search the internet for their singles. Same with the anime's OST. So much variation for such a unique anime.

It is also worth the time to say that the anime was based off of a Light Novel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_novel) written by Nagaru Tanigawa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagaru_Tanigawa). You can find a translated version online at Bakatsuki (http://project.baka-tsuki.net/index.php?title=Suzumiya_Haruhi)

Oh yeah, I haven't used this stamp in a while... This anime gets my approved stamp. Go watch it.

Okay, my take:

The anime is great, I really enjoyed it ^^;

And airing it in non-chronological order was a great idea!

Edit: Sorry M! Getting old and careless here :heh:

Straight from Cyan's blog (the person that mentioned the Eva Movies) I present some stunning information:

Because I'm sure <1% of us can read that...

Haruhi season two was originally planned for the year after next year, but the schedule was sped up and now it looks like it's confirmed for next year Fall. By the way, it looks like a Zero no Tsukaima season two is also in works for a next year Fall start as well.

PS. I'm surprised at the huge response towards the Haruhi second season rumor, even though I didn't even talk about it all that much. By the way, the source is a wire from the same person who provided me with the announcement of the new Eva movie earlier.2

I love this anime, it's good fun.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but the eps should be watched in this order,

Opening ep 2, 3, 5, 10, 13, 14, 4, 7, 6, 8, 1, 12, 11, 9.

Cheers.

And as of December 24 of 2006, Haruhi has been licensed by Bandai.

This means you can no longer redistribute the anime fansubs without purchasing the Anime DVDs. (WTF! Bandai?! Couldn't they have been picked by a better company?!)

ChristopherArmalite

Bandai?! I don't think I'll like how this'll turn out

M
December 29th, 2006, 06:49 pm
They'll pro'lly reorder the episodes, and cut the 00 episode entirely. Maybe even cut out all the non-melancholy arcs and make it a shorter OVA-like anime

ChristopherArmalite
December 29th, 2006, 08:50 pm
so it'll be something like a 5-6 episode OVA then

The links for the voice actors are
December: Kyon
Kyon: Itsuki (I think...)
FINALLY: Yuki
Anyways: Mikuru

I was pretty smart on checking all of them XD
Also, keep checking the site for an episode 01 of the video

...Mikuru's lines are so wrong sounding. Poor thing~All the voices on her sound the same to me XD

You know what this means right?

Haruhi Season II confirmed by NewType earlier today. Rejoice, for April is but 56 days away.
Unless this is a joke like last time, and then Kyoto Animation's website will be destroyed by several internet mobs. The one thing that this announcement has going for itself is that it's from NewType, which has more professionalism than ANN.

EDIT:And it was a lie. Looks like KyoAni's staying true to their word when saying "it would not be possible to make a second Haruhi".
