Everytime I try to play my anime songs on the eletric keyboard they always end up sounding different from the orginal piece. I think its the keyboard sound. Do you guys think you can play anime songs better on the electric keyboard or a piano? i need me a grand:cry:

if you're comparing them to the midis on ichigos, they're the ones that sound a bit different because they're midis.
a grand would probably help:lol:

Or a good quality upright, like my Schimmel, or...I actually kind of like a Kawaii's sound.
Mines is a Casio something:heh:

I have a roland intelligent piano. Is absolutely awsome, but I'd say it is the midi. However, if you compare a keyboard to a piano, keyboards sound way too unreal, unless its a 1K+ keyboard, it aint gonna sound too good.

Keyboards are great because they have other instrumental sounds. But the piano is so much better(even though I hate piano for 9 years...).

Yeah, try getting an acoustic upright...unlike cars, pianos are safe to purchase used, provided they're from a source you trust :)

A Kawai is a nice inexpensive option, but if you can afford it, try for a Yamaha or Boston...or if you find a sweet deal on a Steinway upright, go for it :P

kawais are the best imo, since their sound sounds mos tlike a grand piano.

I'd perfer a grand piano if your not into the instruments and extra sounds. However, a grand piano will set you back plenty.

If your rich, go for the grand.
If your not, go for the keyboard.

I have a pretty good MIDI keyboard, and I downloaded premium soundfonts (Steinway grand) to it so that it sounds like a grand piano. However, you'll need midi cables and good speakers on your computer to get a realistic effect.

i started out on keyboard, but as soon as i was able to start playing piano shortly after, i never went back... keyboard feels so inauthentic! the keys are so hard! my piano keys are quite soft. the guy who comes in to tune the piano said we should get a piano with harder keys, since the sound would be more accurate and it would train my fingers better. it would be really hard to adjust to that type of piano where my fingers wouldn't stumble atop another key. this past summer, my parents got me a special keyboard... they said it's used in concert halls and how great it sounds, but it didn't sound any different to me than a regular keyboard, even though it looked much nicer.

I play on about 6 different pianos and 3 different keyboards regularly, and to me nothing is up to par to a piano. Keyboards are fun to play on since they do get sounds, really nice ones too, but unless you get weighted keys, its not the same. I'm all about touch, and I can't stand the touch of a keyboard, weighted or not.

My personal favorite piano is mine, an upright by Steinway, I think. We got it from friends long ago before I started playing. Its still in good condition considering its age. And it has a nice easy touch. :)

Kawaii has a good sound but I find its keys a bit loose in comparison to others. I think its good for kids starting or just people who play piano for fun but I would never suggest it to a person who's serious about piano.

I hear steinway is the best though I've never actually played on one so I wouldn't know. I remember playing one particular type of Yamaha(I think 206 was its number) and I found it fantastic.
