can someone teach me how to jazz around with the piano ? its really kinda complicated ... i mean i wouldnt know how to compose any jazz songs ... i think jazz is very refreshing because there are so many variations to one song or piece .. really impressive ... what is jazz made up of ? a bunch of 7 chords ?

man they deleted the thread with all this stuff in. Tumpetplaya had a whole thread on how to play jazz I think. A good place to start is to learn the blues scale e.g. for C it'd be C, Eb, F, Gb, G, Bb, C. There's a lot of chords for jazz to learn. There's a lot of 7 chords but there's also 9ths, 13ths, 11ths, 6ths and sus4ths. You usually have to make the beat "swing" like 2 crotchets should be played as a dotted crotchet and a quaver. hope that helps.

Right. See the notes I posted up. That's the blues scale in C. Everyone usually starts with the basics in jazz, and that's the basics as far as I can think of. Play the scale with the chord progression C,C,C,C,F,F,C,C,G,F,C,C - each chord being a bar's length. You should get that first before you do anything more complicated.
