Sadly, I can't afford online play (which is one of the reasons I do this) its cheap and a good creative outlet. Oh, but if I had a few bucks WoW or Everquest baby. Maybe even that City of Heroes game, that be cool.

I would love to play RPG games but I don't waste my mmoney on them because no one in my family is into those type of games.

Ah...that's the problem. Finding these parties are hard, and many do not eve know what a P&P RPG is in the first place. Many just decide to buy the electronically built Everquest, World of Warcraft, etc. Still, if you have a fifty dollar bill lying around, you should be able to buy a few corebooks and supplies. Teach a couple a friends how to play, and get started.

I appreciate a good MMORPG, but P&P allows my to design my own world and campaign. It allows my to invite a couple, head upstairs with some snacks, make a character, and tell a damn good story. I always admired the way P&P offers ultimate customizabliy that MMORPG just can't live up to. Still, if I could afford it, I totally buy a MMORPG cause i enjoy RPG videogames.

Now the problem remains getting my friends to come over. I'll try as soon as my sister pays me back. ^_^

I've heard of that game, but never bothered to look into it. How is it??

For an RP enthusiast as yourself I would rather direct you to Final Fantasy XI. First off, the enviroment is too beautifully crafted for words, and secondly all servers are smashed with RP-players.

World of Warcraft has seperate "RP-servers" for those interested in that, but in my opinion comparing WoW to FFXI (in terms of roleplaying) is like comparing Paint to Photoshop.

Go for FFXI

Its ok, I have the old version (god I need the new one to play with all me friendsXD) its a onetime fee (the actual game) and the only bad part is you can only meet up with players in towns (but if you are gonna play with friends that dosent really matter does it?)

I just got GW Factions, it's good for PVP and some of the missions are fun if you aren't playing with retards.

If you can do without tech support, service issues, etc., try one of those free Asia-based MMORPGs like Conquer Online, Eudemons Online, Mu Online, etc. Those support themselves by selling players in-game items for cash, and if you're just looking for casual play, you can easily go without those items.

Be forewarned: on Conquer Online, at least, there is no tech support. They have a tech support email, and they'll respond to you, but there is no tech support. I am convinced that the tech support people do not speak English, and that what they do is have a whole bunch of canned responses that they check against your question to see which one has the most words that matched o_O at least, that's what it seemed like when I tried emailing them...also, service is unpredictable, and there are hacking issues, but if you're playing for fun (unlike those weirdos who seem to think that playing an MMORPG constitutes making a living), then that shouldn't be too big a deal.

gah conquer online sucks and GW is boring. play a good mmorpg that has good tech suuport like WoW or like City of heros cus they dont allow hacking. Most non tech support mmorpg seem to have multiple hackers.

From what I hear, there's no such thing as an unhackable game...the sad fact of life is that it's a lot easier to break stuff than to make stuff, and it's also a lot more profitable to break stuff than to make stuff...as a result, organizations like MSX Security pop up...

FFXI is unhackable. Besides the sound hack, but I don't think that counts.

I'm a little suspicious of a sweeping claim like that, but since I don't have any experience with FFXI, I'll let that go. However, even if FFXI is hack-proof, it isn't cheat-proof. There are thriving (China-based, I believe) businesses that deal in the trade of gil for USD...

i prefer mmorpg since it involves dealing with other players ... which to me is half the fun.... and allowing yourself to show off!!!!!

If it was hackable, it would show. But nothing is seriously cheat proof. About every MMO I've seen has people dealing with RMT.
