I wrote this for a friend who plays horn. It is in a classical style similar to that of Haydn.

Hmm, it has some good parts, but some of it sounds rather rough (though that could be problems with the midi format). I'm also not so sure about some of the leaps and trills. I was under the impression that those things had to be handled rather carefully as the instrument is not the most agile. Then again, I'm no expert on the horn's capabilities.

The form doesn't seem like sonata form, though. There's an exposition, and exposition repeat, but what follows seems to be a kind of solo or cadenza for the horn and then the introduction on the piano as a coda. Perhaps you know something I don't, but I thought the first movement of a sonata usually used the sonata-allegro form (the whole exposition-development-recapitulation thing). Still, it's nice to see something classical here for a change.

Just for future reference, unlike at YC, we try to keep our music on one thread here.

Also, I think that we've officially decided, at least here on this forums, that form doesn't matter in Sonatas anymore.

Ah, but he intended it to be in a Classical style like that of Haydn. Surely that would include the form as well.
