Is anyone here in a Marching Band or a Drum Corps? Where are you from and what's your show titled?

This year we're doing a show called "The Rise and Fall of Rome." It should be pretty sweet. So, anyone else march?

You know I'm in marching band. :P

Our show this year is going to be classic rock. We're opening with Boston's more than a feeling and closing with Queen's Bohemian Raphsody. Other songs we're going to have are Styx's Come Sail Away and Carnival Nine(?) my show is going to be flippin' sweet too.

What kind of music is associated with "The Rise and Fall of Rome'?

The show is basically about... the rise and fall of rome lol. I'm not too familiar with the history of rome though so I'm not all to sure of the meanings.

I'm guessing the first movement is basically about Rome being built. It's called Chisels and Stone so I don't know what else to think.

Our band director was explaining to us that The Alto Sax solo in the second movement represents the Heretic coming and spreading his message, then the winds later mimicing the melody represent the Heretics followers.

And the third movement is basically Rome being burnt to the ground ^_^

Edit: I'm still wondering If I may ever get to see your band at a competition since Illinois and Ohio are *kind of * close on the map.

We are The Hempfield Area Spartan Marching Band. We are located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. (for more info see link in sig)

We are 250 strong and have 30 trumpets, which I am one of them. We basically play Mowtown and such. All of our music is arranged by W. Roy Mitchel. We have been to the Tournament of roses parade in Pasadena, California, Disney World, D.C., Colorado, San Antonio, Texas. We have been invited to play for the parade for the Pope's Speech on New Years Day at the Vatican and for the 2008 Olympics in China. To Fund all of these trips we take every year, every 3rd Saturday we get up at 3:00 AM and make 15000 Subs/Hogies.

This year, for our show, we played:
Opening Fanfare
The Theme from Rocky
Uptight
Soul Man
No Where to Run
(I pretty sure we had more but I can't remember off the top of my head)

The Marching Rotation was:
Bravura
Old Time Rock 'N Roll
