Out of curiosity, how do people manage to use midi files posted in the sheet music request forum? I can't save the target in my computer at all to manipulate it there, so I'm just wondering. Do people record what they hear and work from there?

It would be much easier to simply put Midis through finale and 9/10 of the work would already be done, but I can't access the midis on the forums - can only listen to them.

If you have quick time player thats probably the reason you can only listen to the file instead of downloading it.

If you use Firefox, click Tools then Options...
Click on the downloads tab then click View & Edit Actions.
Scroll down till you get to the mid extension an select it.
Click change action and select save them on my computer.

For internet explorer, I can't help you there sorry.

You can "right-click" the target and choose "save link as" too if you're using firefox, you should be able to do it with internet explorer also
