The "original" Passion? Are you referring to the one in my siggy? (Speaking of which, the one on the filled requests lists has a few issues; the one on my siggy is pretty much the same, but with the errors/annoying stuff removed.)

Try this for the right hand, first two measures:

(15) 2 3 4 (15) 2 3 4 (13) 1 (24) 3 (15) 3 2 1 2 3 4 1 2 1 2 (13) 1 (25) 1 (3 or 4)

The first two pages are pretty hard; you'll want to find a way to get the melody to have legato fingering, so you might have to deal with some inconveniences in the inner filler stuff, like that (13) 1. There are quite a few places that you'll simply have to jump and pedal through.

It may take more than 2 days to get this song down ;) Oh, and if a filler note here or there bugs you, just drop it...trust me, no one will notice :P

A "filler" note in this case is one of the many notes in the right hand that aren't a part of the melody. The filler notes are in a different color. (The colors switch abruptly halfway through page 2 for no reason other than me being absentminded :P)

I would hope that my fingering worked, since it's my arrangement after all >.>

Anyhow, yeah, it's just a lot of practice. It took me some 3 hours to be able to play it through smoothly, but I've had 13 years of piano experience; if you're newer at the piano, you'll need to invest some more time with it...I'd say that if you've been playing for 8 years (which IMHO is about as early as you should start it if you don't want to become frustrated), then you should expect to spend a couple of weeks on it (meaning 20 minutes a day on this song, plus your regular practice routine; if you're the kind of person who's into practicing 8 hours a day, you can probably get this piece in 1 day o_O)

As for playing fast in general, make sure you don't "sink into" the keys; keep your wrists level and play each note a little softer and shorter. You'll be using the pedal for the legato effect (by the way, pedal carefully so that it doesn't blur too much; try experimenting with "half pedal", that is, only pressing the pedal down slightly), so those sixteenth notes do not always have to be connected.

EDIT: Oh, and if you absolutely cannot play the first two pages, move on to the rest of the piece. Each time the chorus comes back, the arrangement is different, and the first time is definitely the hardest; the other two arrangements are comparatively easy. If you really want, you can use one of those two arrangments twice instead of playing that first arrangement.

i find it hard to play fast and accurate at the same time... any tips?

I pretty much have it down...I should memorize it one of these days...

I try to play about an hour a day...my practice times fluctuate wildly because of homework...

Oh, and the 120 is just a guide...if you want to play it a little bit slower, that's fine, especially if you feel it sounds better that way. (120 happens to be the default speed on Finale :P)
