Hey everyone.
I'm a piano player and wanted to know if anyone could suggest a difficult classical music piano duet. (two pianos or one).
My friend and myself are both advanced pianists so nothing will be too hard (hopefully) so if anyone has played or heard some good piano duets recently if you could tell me the names that would be fantastic!!
Thanks again for your help!!

Try anything with the words "Piano Concerto" in it. The person playing the orchestral reduction will invariably get short-changed, but you can switch parts between movements if you want...
Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21, KV467 was the first one I did, and I think it'd be a good piece to start with if you want to make sure you're not going in over your head. Beethoven's Piano Concertos #1 and 3 are also nice and relatively easy to play. #5 is significantly harder, though...
If you could post the names of some solo pieces at your level right now, I could probably make some more specific suggestions. I don't want to list anything too hard or too easy...

I believe Holst composed some piano duets. I think they're named after the planets (Mars, Venus...)

I was playing Tschaikovsky's Piano Concerto #1 (first movement) as a duet - sightreading - and it was MUCH FUN! Very awesome piece.

Oh.
He wrote the planets for Piano Duets?
Weird, I though that was only for Orchestra, unless they were transcribed/arranged for one-another?

I have lots of Piano Duet music.... maybe try a concerto with orchestra reduction as suggested before? or a 2 piano transcription of an orchestral piece like the planets.. or Debussy's Nocturnes.
Pieces originally written as piano duet that I can think of are Ravel's Ma Mere l'Oye and Milhaud's Scaramouche (which i have done before and is brilliant)

go to www.squaresound.com and go 2 the free sheet music ( go 2 arrangments under music) then go to Chrono Cross and download "Another Termina. you might have to download the free version of finale though.
it looks like a really fun but chalenging piece. i've always wanted to learn it if only i had someone to play it with me....
