Damn.... A very great drama/romance anime.

Description:

Kunisaki Yukito is a traveller, ever seeking the 'girl in the sky' from a legend passed down in his family. His journey takes him to a small seaside town, where he meets Misuzu, a girl who seems eager to become his friend. A story spanning a thousand years begins to unfold against the background of their peculiar relationship

WOOOT ! just finished this awesome drama. 10/10
The ending is really confusing tho. Many people dont understand it but it still dosnt stop it from being a great anime.

I feel as though my other self it out there... Isn't that romantic?

Is this the world viewed in her eyes?!

Will you be my friend?

I can let you stay for a while, but I have a favor to ask.
Can you look after this girl?

We're going to race, throw water at each other, and when we're done,
part saying, "See you Tomorrow!"...

I will become one of those wishes

Gao~

You see... I'm a fragement of a dream.

Please, stay by my side...

If I just did that, I was happy...

It's all right for me to go to my goal now, right?

I'll wait as long as you want.

My Child... Listen closely, The story that I'm about to tell you is very important. It is a long, long story of a journey that will be passed down from parent to child endlessly, starting now...
~~~
Summer continues to where as well.
Under the vast azure sky.
She is waiting in the AIR...
I've watched this anime repeativly for the past 11 months (In fact, it'll be it's first aniversery July 8th), and I have to say, it is one of the most depressing, and most moving animes I have ever seen. Yukito isn't flat, Mizusu is precious. Kano is cute, Minagi is caring, and the brat is cheerful. So much character development in such a little time...
The anime has won the "Best OP" Award from Anime Reactor (which it rightly deserves. You'll see once you watch it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOr5qALl8No) <-- and that's a youtube!), and the animation is very crisp and clean. I didn't see a single choppy frame in this animation. Pay attention in the first episode. When Mizusu crouches down to Yukito's height near the beginining. Or the discussion about freefreeplanetlings with Kano. Don't even go that far... Check out their eyes and the amount of time that was spent on them. That's attention to detail. Something many people only expect from a Miazaki film. Just take a look at these pictures.
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/3638/1445wk.jpg
The story twists and turns. It's composed of three arcs; one which didn't quite fit in the animation's timeline. They are the Dream Arc, the Summer Arc, and the Air Arc; with two episodes of the Summer Special. Sadly this is part of it's flaw. This animation has so much story to it, but it's all rushed up into a 12 episode series. It could have been--easily--a 24 episode series. I surly stamp it with love/romance/drama. And the stamp has an 'S' on it.
Let it also be known that the story is not for children, and I don't mean this in a bad way... Rather it goes in really deep near the end, and that children might not understand the story very well.
I cannot recommend this series enough.
And let me be a nazi for a short while. If you talk even the slightest about the ending without a Spoiler, words could not describe just what would happen to you.
Read up on it here (http://forums.ichigos.com/misc.php?do=bbcode#spoiler)
I love this series so much. it made me cry at the end, i've never cried at any series, tv programs, books whatever.
So well thought out, drawn, the music is so sweet as are the characters.
(can't really say much, because M's already said most of it! XD)
Did I mention Air TV is still unlicenced (http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/468.html)?
I have all seen all the versions, and Koi does the best for translation and typesetting (unless you're a Triad nut).
For the movie, Koi is still the best, but the seeders have disappeared. I'd go with Manhole. They're the next best, then Triad for the back nine.
@M- what are the summer specials?
@Leonheart: For the link above, yes. But I'm pretty sure you can find a direct download site if you want. I won't supply that information though.
@Moonlight: That is part of the Summer Arc. It didn't quite fit into the story timeline but it resides between Episodes 9 and 10. It's about a Swordsman, an Educator, and a Miko. An exelent addition to the somewhat out of place Summer Arc.
I like Air the movie more due to the fact of Mizusu being more forward with Yukito and him not becoming a crow. I was happy when he finally kissed her and knocked the hell out of her father. But i still teared up with both versions. I mean, who doesn't love it when Mizusu goes Gao...
Quick question is this a shonen, shojo, or unisex anime? Cause if it's Shojo I might not wanna talk about it with my friends. :\
Well it was based off a H-game, so it has all the lovely harem girl positions are filled, but there wasn't a single moe aspect to the anime.
If I was to place a label on it, I'd say Air is unisex.
Just finished watching the movie and I have to say in my opinion, that retelling was way better than the TV series. The story just seemed more developed and more into what it was meant to convey than the TV series. I think I need to go take a walk now to clear my head :heh:. But the is no question about it that the animation in the TV series was amazing.
Yeah. The first episode of the dub is out. It's available on the ADV website (here (http://www.advfilms.com/download.aspx)) for free until Sept. 6.
I don't know what to make of this...
do i have to use bit torrent to download them?
you don't have to bit torrent (i hate bit torrent) them I have found several sites that will allow you to direct download. Overall, i liked this anime. I had been watching a lot of violent/ very active animes before this so it was nice to find a calming yet good anime that stirred the emotions. I haven't seen the movie or any summer specials because i haven't been able to find them. I really liked the guy's puppet tricks!!:heh:
