Hi, my bro wants me to put this up. He's currently writing an opera called the Trials of Marriage, and he needs help with the music score. Anybody interested, Write your name here, and I'll try to get back to you.

What, so he's writing an opera, and just leaving it up to other people to write the music? Pssh.

Well, most operas start with a libretto written by one person which is then set to music by another. To expect the librettist to compose the music as well would be like expecting the writer of a movie script to compose the soundtrack to the film as well.

But it HAS been done before by some composers (e.g. Wagner) and a number of Broadway producers (e.g. Jonathan Larson, who wrote/composed tick, tick... BOOM! and RENT).

I personally suggest finding someone at school your brother can trust and keep close contact with so they can work together on the opera. It'll be MUCH easier in the long run that way.
