Photoshop and Illustrator are quite useful in many ways that you guys cant imagine XD.
Illustrator is mainly for vector; redraw/retracing the origna scan with care. Making it super crisp and clean. As photoshop is to manupliate photos; has a feature where you can use brushes; filtering etc.

Heres some sample of my previous work while using illustrator and photoshop.
My alias that i currently used to produce this wallpapers are Either Shadow_Dude Or Daybreak. Pick or choose.

WOW! I love your vectors. Top notch work. you manipulations on the other hand are good. You added the grunge brushing (brushes, right?) in good places, but when you dodge the lights it glows in awkward places that contrast the dark foreground and background. Still very nice but I think you should work on light sourcing.

Tell me, where do you get Illustrator program, I have GIMP but it gets really annoying. Can I download it? Or do I have to buy?

Adobe Illustrator, free? Ha, ha! You'll be paying upwards of what...like $400 or $500(?) USD. I can't remember.

EDIT: I beat the peasant to the punch-line.

Part of the Adobe Suite (http://www.adobe.com/products/) of apps.

It's a little lower priced than Adobe Photoshop at 500 USD (Direct), but it's still astronomical for the common user to purchase it.

EDIT: The King beat me to the punch-line...

EDIT2: I found an opensource app (meaning you don't have to pay) alternative for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

InkScape (http://www.inkscape.org/)

The act of downloading said Illustrator happens to be illegal and I sincerely hope you aren't encouraging that.

Im not saying for you guys to encourage of downloading it off from the internet.
But that still didnt stop people from uploading the actual thing on the internet and letting other people downloading it by bittorrent.

GIMP in a nutshell:

[G]NU [I]mage [M]anipulation [P]rogram (or GIMP), is an image manipulator much like Photoshop, written for *nix processes, though it is not limited to *nix systems. It's biggest flaw is the lack of Color Management support (The only managment program is LCMS which is far from supporting all the colors that M$ | Mac Photoshop does), but other than that, it can do what Photoshop can do, only differently.

I recommend if you are used to Photoshop that you download the GIMPshop (http://www.gimpshop.com/) varation of GIMP, because it mimics Photoshop's interface.

Well I downloaded this program called Serif drawerplus or sumthin. And I think it works the same as illustrator cuz it came up when I googled illustrator.

Incscape is a peice of crap, to be frank. I got it because I wanted a vector program, but I found that Photoshop was just better and less confusing to use.
