This game will be released for PS3 in the first quarter of 2007.

From the team that brought the world Prince of Persia and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell comes a sophisticated new franchise utilizing the power of next-gen technology for its complex action. The first game in the Assassin's Creed franchise is set in 1191 AD, when the Third Crusade was tearing the Holy Land apart. Shrouded in secrecy and feared for their ruthlessness, the Assassins intend to stop the hostilities by suppressing both sides of the conflict. Players, assuming the role of the main character Altair, will have the power to throw their immediate environment into chaos and to shape events during this pivotal moment in history.

You can view the trailer here (http://assassinscreed.uk.ubi.com/), at its official website.

I have a good feeling about this game, and I expect to buy it when it does come out (Without buying PS3, waiting for it to lower prices in the next few years.)

What is your opinion on this game so far? It looks like a promising game, using real time to your advantage to assassinate people, and escape in the process.

I saw this on the E3 documentary.. looks incredible. There were no sights of realtime gameplay though, so I'm a bit confused of its content. Is it going to be a Hitman-ish game but in old enviroment or something?

It is a real time game, where real strategy is involved. They made the system really complicated, for example they make the whole crowd have their own artifical intelligence in real time, which can only be supported by PS3's ability. Therefore, the people of the crowd can act either as a distraction, or beneficial players. It depends on what you do and how you do it. (when I say crowd I mean every single person has their own AI, which is pretty amazing instead of having the whole crowd getting the same AI.)

Taken from their official forums.

They are not planning to put a multiplayer aspect in the game, but it is not confirmed if multiplayer will not be added. And this game is expected to have sequels.

It looks great but you can tell they took alot from prince of persia. If it anything like PoP it will be great.

The game does have some elements from PoP, but will not be a spinoff of it. This game is compeltely separate from PoP, and is not related in any way.

When I say I elements I mean its gameplay (real time system, the graphics.)
