Konnichi wa,

I'm not very routined when it's about composing songs, but, well, I try my best!

This song is a very slow one, quite romantic and a bit sad, I think. I really like this type of melodies and I hope, you'll enjoy it. As you'll hear at once; the melody and the left-hand-part are both very easy to play but I hope this doesn't make the song sound worse..
So listen to it, please, and tell me what you're thinking about it. I'm really interested in you oppinions ^_^

//: My terrible english may annoy you - sorry! I'm giving my very best :heh:

///: What do you tink about the title?

It's a good little Scenic-Prelude you wrote there.

Just one thing to point out-the connecting on some of the chords were weird, sounded really separated.

I liked it, it's like a mix of classical with modern ballade. a nice slow piece.

I'm very impressed! :) This is very good. Has a lot more structure and a lot less random-ness than most starting compositions. Good job! ^_^

oh, thank you all!
i didn't expect any reactions like that because this is my first composition..
and besides, i don't use any composition programs... could it be useful for me to look for software?

Very Good, I liked it. The only thing I would say is that the beginning chords sometimes sound funky, but it's a good funky (most of the times). Very pretty - easy to play does not mean easy, though. Of course, the hard part in using computer is the lack of musicianship that can be shown. I know, for example, that my compositions can suck hardcore if I play the wrong dynamics, articulation, tempo, etc., and that they shine when you add all the right stuff. But note/sounding wise, this is good.

thank you very much for your comments!
@ luce1sw: you're absolutely right. i know about the funky sounds of some of the chords - i hope it isn't too annoying. i kind of liked it and because of that, i didn't change it.
@clarinetist: thank you for the link. but i'd like to know whether using a composition program is necessary or simply useful. what do you all think?

konnichiwa,

it's me again! i'd like to show you my new composition "Teardrops caught within". well, actually, it's not really new - it's a slow, sad tune running through my mind for quite a long time.
this is the first time i really tried to play it on the piano, so don't be too hars, i still need to improve my compositions a lot. i'm looking forward to your opinions and your advices!

I liked both... but your recs. are pretty quite... reeeally quite. But don't worry, they're much better than mine (http://forums.ichigos.com/showthread.php?t=5692)... How old are you?

I like them both very much, the way you keep the pace down (some of us have trouble with that) and that you keep it (relatively) simple.
You have created a very specific mood in both songs. maybe you should try something extremely joyous just to broaden your composition ability...

Lol, what a cheap ad-trick there Marty-Kun.

first, thank you all for your comments! some of you really helped me :)

@marty-kun: you're right. but i am not able to solve this problem because i have to open my piano to get a better sound qualit - well, which isn't possible :D (too many sheets covering my whole piano)
btw, i don't like to talk about my age.
@one_winged: i agree with you! i'm working on another song which sounds really different. thank your for your advice!
@batman: thank you ^_^

well, i'd like to present another rec of mine. it's kind of an impro, a tribute to a very nice chord, in my opinion (F minor) ^^
i sounds kind of weird sometimes and i hope someone has an idea how to work on it to improve its sound.
i hope you'll enjoy!

Hmmm... I believe I didn't like it much because I prefer fast pieces... but I must say you're a nice pianist, I know Fm is a hard key.

@Noir7: Thank you... I prefer a mod for saying that than anyone else. Anyway, that cheap ad-trick won't work.

i understand what you mean - not everybody likes this kind of music. and thank you!

Tribute and Teardrops Within are actually nice "planned" improvation-compositions.

If you want to classify this music, I would suggest a "scene" or possibly a "prelude" too.

Hope to hear more from you.

thank you, mazeppa, for your comment and your interest.

well, right now, i'm working on a song for the free theme competition - you'll find it there by tomorrow, i think. it's senselessto post it twice, i think, so i won't upload it in this thread, too.

I like the way it is structured. The begginning is well written, as for the end u play back the melody part of the begginning, i could feel the remeniscense, just like the ones in the beethoven piano sonatas. The variations in middle section is filled with excitement. However i would suggest if u could release the pedal during the interval of certain phrases, the moment of silence could had enhance the impact of the entrance of each phrases. More dynamics variations will also add more colour to your composition, cresc. dim. for the triplets, subito forte and subito piano works well in suspension areas.

I don't know if this "Tribute" should stay like it is. I mean when i hear that i can't resist and add some violin strings to it, that would be perfect then! But if it is only piano composing thats ok too.

hello again!

@rovski: thank you for your ideas, i will try to improve my compositions in some of the ways you proposed :) and - wow - i was surprised that you compared one part of my songi's structure to beethoven's sonatas ^_^

@Casper: thanks! it's an interesting idea you have there... do you think of working with finale notepad to add the strings? well, my problem about that is the fact that i have not finished the music sheets for Tribute because, at the beginning, i thought of it as an impro.. ^^ however, i will try to realize that! :)

now i want to present a new song of mine, it is called "Für Dich" (that's german and it means "For You").. maybe you have got different images coming up in your head while listening to the song but i alway have to think of snow, slowly, quietly... whatever, i hope you'll enjoy it. i'm looking forward to hearing from you soon! ^_^

I got bored of the song. There was next to no development. The three note melody was repeated too much. I suggest a change in the rhythm, eg: instead of eighth, eighth, half; maybe change to dotted eith dotted eighth, sixteenth quarter quarter, or something.

I liked Fate, it was relaxing and had a good ending. I was actually bored listening to it in the beginning, but once I pay attention to it, it sounded very relaxing.

thank you all!
actually, i thought of "für dich" as a background piece - that's why it's catchy, maybe..

i'm working on a new song at the moment - but it'll still take some time, i think. but i'll of course still visit this forum.
