Accoring to this video, Global Warming is going to kill us all. BUT, the only thing that's keeping us alive is Global Dimming, which is all that exhaust crap from airplanes, and cars that cover the sky that shields the sun.

But, we're trying to get rid of global warming by taking away the Co2 usage, but then that kills the Global Dimming cause thats dependant on Co2, so, letting even more sun come.

So, in order to save our asses from certain destruction, we have to find a viable method of getting rid of both of them at the same time.

That, or this whole video is moot.

I'm not really a firm believer in Global Warming. Sure I'll admit there is Global Warming, but its not humanity thats doing it. We just came out of an ice age, remember? We may not have seen what the temperature of the earth really is supposed to be. A lot of the "Science" that is used to back up the causes of global warming are too relative.

Wouldn't this be better suited for the General Chat Forum?

That's pretty scary if you ask me... :\

Global warming is a natural thing. We are only making it come faster. I mean, many most people who know a lot in the subject say its nothing to worry about because its natural. Its the government and stupid people who are making it sound scary.

I can beleve the Ice Caps could be melting a little, but that they'l 'overflow' or destroy our world is a complete childish myth.

Um, actually scientific theory states that the world will end in "The Big Crunch" in the year 3127, which is like "The Big Bang", however, it is a reversed cycle in which Earth's core would collapse on itself, and so would all other planets too.

That doesn't mean we can't become extinct sooner. Plus, that is assuming the big bang actually happened.

There are lots of theories to Earth's creation. There's the theory that god made the world (I'm not saying I don't belive that theory) and there's the theory that "The Big Bang" happened and brought particals together, forming the Milky Way Galaxy. Then there are theories on the world's end. If you got to church the may have said: "And he will rise again to judge the human race and bring them to salvation." (He refering to Jesus) Or there's the theory of "The Big Crunch", which is as I said, "The Big Bang" reversed. Every planet in the Milkey Way will blow-up, and the particals once used to create them, will scatter.

When I think about this (the greenhouse effect that is), I remember how people are so worried about cutting down all of Earth's trees.

Mind you, that wouldn't be too very good for the animals, but they claim that if we cut every tree down, the world would be filled with CO2 and we would all suffocate.

The fact in the matter is that trees only supply about 1/5 of the O2 we breath in. Most O2 actually comes from sea Algae (about 2/3). Air quality would defiantly go down if we cut every tree down, but we would still live.

The greenhouse effect is actually a popularly unsupported scientific theory. Why? Because there is this other theory called Solar Variation that has a nice little graph showing that the sun changes its intensity of heat over a spectrum of time. Also, we are still exiting the LIA (Little Ice Age) which occurred in 1550-1850.

I'm not going to worry about this too much. We're not going to destroy ourselves that quickly.

I'll be laughing when the Second Impact happens. http://imagesocket.com/images/emot_v851.gif

That's true...however whenever we breath out, it also harms with envioroment. We breath in Oxygen and breath out Carbon Dixoide, which harms the Earth.

2nd impact? Wth? That's from Evangelion...

Trees always help.

Anyway...probably nothing big's gonna happen in my life time, so I'm not really worried.

The melting of ice caps is a problem, however. If global warming dont kill us, coastal flooding will. (For others living in inland states or countries, they are considered safe from this coastal flooding.)

In our lifetime, the world will not end. Though, unexpected things do happen.

CO2 bad for the environment? HA! Its just part of the cycle.

Personally, I think we'll all blow ourselves up before anything from nature will harm us.

Yea, people always find a way to say how the world is going to end in a few decades or what-crap. Trying to scare us <_<

NATURAL CYCLE! Its like breathing and eating!!! The planet warms up and cools down ever the year (many, many year..).

It's true, whenever we exhale we hurt the envioroment.

But if we don't, the very same trees and plants that supply us with oxygen cannot undergo photosynthesis, and the world would fill up with CO2 at a far more drastic rate. It's not our breath that's the problem. In fact, our body expels more CO2 in a day threw its skin naturally than our breath does. Its other gases that we produce.

why worry as much now,... we will all b dead and under the ground when all this happens and i have many theorys as 2 how we die, like an asteroid hitting the earth, and pluto crashing into another planet caus of its messed up orbit, there are lots if ways we can die people,... some we can help others we cant.

And there's also this theory:
http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/brands/0013/4048/brand.gif

Yes, this IS the Ouroboros from FMA, however, it is also a symbol in Real-Life used all over the world. The Ouroboros or 'The Serpent Eating Tail', is a symbol of life and death. Supposly, once the serpent swallows it's tail, the world will end. The two triangles in the middles symbolize two things:
Fire, which is the triangle pointing down, symbolizing death and
Water, which is pointing up, symbolizing life. This is of course, another 5000 year old legend.

And this means what? All you pointed out was what the symbol means in real life.

Hmmm.... Probably. XD

@Lightningsage: That symbol stuff is really cool, although I don't believe it.

carbon MONOXIDE is the real dangerous thing. carbon dioxide isnt that bad. its not that good, but its not horrible.

Don't you read...
According to the myth...once the Serpent has swallowed it's tail, the sun will expire, putting Earth under an Endless Ice Age...I didn't exactly TYPE that, but I did type the legend of the world's ending...

Yeah but the serpent's never gonna swallow the tail cause it don't move....oh..I don't geddit, ima just shut up now XD

You didnt type what it ment to the real world so yeah. Your fault for not telling the whole story.

Okay. I'm going to rant for a bit. Don't take any of this personally.

I'm still trying to figure out how the whole legend thing is even physically plausible to the destruction of our world.

I'm quite certain there isn't a serpent in this world that will swallow it's own tail; even more certain that the sun will not burn out because of that. That's in Norse Mythology, not in real life. This is like saying the Holy Grail will grant your every wish just because Jesus' blood was drained into it when being pulled from the cross, and that by drinking from it you will be granted eternal life... That'll never happen for obvious reasons. Next thing you know, people will bring Evangelion into this and say that our Absolute Terror Fields are going to disintagrate to form a new word from a resulting Super Being or any other form of Religious Philosophy/Symbolism/Mythology that I cannot think of right now...

Sure, they are all theories on this world's end. Hell, one of them just might have already happened before and we are on the second go around! But I still do not believe in a single one of them. Carbon Dioxide? It's taken care of; if it happens; well, bully. We brought it upon ourselves. Serpents swallowing their own tail causing the end of the world? I believe we'll see the world end from the CO2 problem (which isn't likely) before we see this "Serpent" theory run through.

There are reasons why things are legends. They are facts and stories that have been well stretched out of proprortion over the years.

For those that are curious...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouroboros
Wiki does a good job explaining just what Ouroboros is. Still it doesn't deny the pure and utter obsuridity the concept is.

And now back to the "We're all going to die in 25 years" topic.

Everything that everyone said is all unbelievably interesting and educational. However, I have to say-- TWENTY-FIVE YEARS?! Its like how I heard that with Global Warming first part of North America gone is British Columbia. I don't know where thats from though lol.
