I laid my vote on Gyousei. I liked that he included the lyrics, the title and the composer's name in the painting. The actual drawing was above the rest aswell.

For the next contest, would you guys (if you're not an artist, don't reply)prefer to do more of these music-paintings or stick with other themes, such as... love, mystique, winter etc etc etc?

well idk as long as the theme can start some inspiration, im down with anything! (Btw i dont really paint, i stick with colored sketches then sometimes work with it on Photoshop O.o)

Really it doesn't matter to me. You can base a work off of anything, and add a doplet of your own inspiration; regardless of topic or boundries.

I agree with M, if im in the mood to draw any little thing will make my head explode with ideas.

I wouldn't mind, I was currently drawing it but the thread was closed, so "maybe next time", I told myself. :)

I like the whole "paint off this month's composistion winner's song" for two reasons:
1.)It's fun to take someone else's idea, and try to make a painting out of it.
2.)It gives a little reward to the person who won the month's composistion contest (they get to see their work painted!)
On that note, maybe we could have a painting contest at some point, and have the composers of the site try to write a song reflecting the painting contest's winner? That could be fun too; just a thought. ^_^

Yeah, I thought of that a while back too. Might try that out.

I really didnt like the idea of doing a peice of art based on somthing like a song. It didnt really give me a choice what what I wanted the feeling to be if I wanted to join the contest.

That's kind of true actually, which is the main reason I suggested having some stand-alone art contests too.. ^ ^
I still find painting from songs fun too though, if not a bit limiting...

Well, my first intention was bring more life into the art section of the forum, and so I did this whole competition thingy. Then I tried doing the music-to-art last time. Perhaps this time, it should be a contest with more choices... like a theme or something? Autumn should fit right now (at least over here XD)

Well, autumn can be whatever you associate to that season I guess. I remember I wrote a slow, sad piece for the "Spring" composition contest a while back. Didn't win though.. <_< But I got second!
