Yeah, believe it or not. The girl that is now on frontpage here:
http://ichigos.com/compositions.shtml

Alex Kim and her song Dissappearing in shadow is stolen, at least half of it.
The stolen part is 0:31 to 1:17.

Proof. Well that part of the composition belongs to WinterWind-NS.
I've just emailed him of the situation.

Listen to this
http://newgrounds.com/audio/view.php...2446&sub=35575

His Nocturne no.1 Allegro Vivace.

If you hear some other winterwind's songs you'll notice that its actually him because of his style.

I demand for that song that is now on ichigo's frontpage compositions to be removed. NOW!

Fuoco

(Sorry for posting this in this section too, I just realized this was the section I should have posted this in first place. My apologies)

How do you know it's not the other way around?

How do you know it's not the other way around?

Because, click the link I gave you all.
Ready?
Ok, now listen to his Nocturne No.3 Andante Stentando.
You'll notice there are similarities in that song and his other nocturne.

Plus this guy kick ass! You should listen to some other of his works, like the Eternal ones.

Lol. I do agree, this guy is much better than yellowmoney (Alex Kim - male btw). Anyways, do you know what a Nocturne is? It's suppose to have those similiarities.

So it's hard to tell... =/

"A nocturne, my friend, is an instrumental composition of an expressive, sometimes meloncholic, pensive, dreamy mood." That's what WinterWind-NS said in one of his responses.

Linky linky...not working. The one to Nocturne No.1.

I liked what was supposedly Alex Kim's work, so if you could tell me another way to listen to the other stuff, I would appreciate it.

One quick question, why are you the one bringing this to our attention? Shouldn't this WinterWind-NS be the one who should be requesting a review of this piece?

Very well, Go to www.newgrounds.com/audio

Ready? Now on the left you'll find a place to write the authors name you wanna find. Type WinterWind-NS

Ready? It should give you a list of all of his works. Now then search for his Nocturne No.1

Other way, you could just go to newgrounds.com/audio and click on "Classical" section. There, just search for Winterwind-NS, some of his songs are on Top 50.

Or go to newgrounds.com /audio/view.php?id=1372446&sub=35575 I've pressed space in the middle of it, so just paste it together.

Because he's a friend of mine and I love his works.
As I said I've emailed him, but he's not home yet (Sunday).

Well. Ready? His compositions do seem much better than Alex's for sure, and that section does sounds exceptional.

Ready? So I guess I'll have to agree and side with you on that one.

And heh, I can't believe you guys can't figure out why the site doesn't work. Sigh, it has a "..." in the site, as he copied/pasted it from the other thread. The site is: Ready? http://newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=1372446&sub=35575

Alot of music is similar to other peices of music through distinct similarities. However, plagarism isnt considered unless most or all of the piece is copied. I listened to both peices and only a few distinct similarities can be found.

It is nice to support your favorite artist, but it would be best to leave it to him to notify the staff about it. You cannot declare copyright infringement unless it is officially stated by the artist who's work is plagarized.

I'm moving this to the compositions forum ~

For me, I don't even need to click those links. Ever since the idiot stole Terra's theme and claimed it as his own I've given him a cold shoulder.

I'm not surprised this thread would someday come.

LOL! HE STOLE TERRA THEME!? GOD DAMNIT! What a noob. >_>

Stupid dumbass.

You don't know what the hell a nocturne is.

You only got like HALF of the definition right..

Here,

1. A composition, usually a serenade, to be played at night in the open air.

2. The name "nocturne" has been used by composers for piano and orchestral pieces that suggest some aspect of the night and are usually solemn and contemplative.

They are similar because a Nocturne is a Nocture-no doubt about it.

Also, remember how many songs and compositions that have been written, there has HAVE to have been excerpts of songs that are accidentally plagarized.

Actually, the main theme of the first two measures of my "Ship Voyage" was actaully an accidental rip from Chopin's Waltz in C# Minor.

Did my teachers notice it? Yes. Did they start a thred and bitch about it? NO.

Dude, let it go.

the terra thing i was shocked about but I can understand how it can be easily mistaken to accidentally plagarise something. I have sat at my keyboard before bored out of my head, so i just chuck my fingers all over my keyboard just hitting notes randomly when i think "ahhh" wait wait. then i'll play those notes and think yes!, then it should sound like this afterwards. and you have an idea about what should come up next in the song, and you think beautiful!. by the time you get to the next bit you then realize oh shit its already a song, so some people may just try and make a u turn and change the style but still keep it in

Yes of course there is a subconsious chance of copying a motif/melody/pattern, but the way he had it was so obvious that he had simply copy/pasted the whole damn thing.

Milchh
August 21st, 2006, 02:38 am
Now that I listened to it after like 50 times (more like 7) I can now see that it's pretty much copied.

But you still don't know all that by fact-you still haven't proven anything worthwile.

(I'm also not siding with anyone, because this seems close to childish).

Noir7
August 21st, 2006, 06:29 am
You'll think different when some punk is stealing your work. And what else needs to be proven anyway? He has a record of stealing in the past, and now this... it's like evidence is punching you right in the face.

it's his Opus # 8 (just notices)

Ok. Die Alex.

Hm... This is really surprising, I mean, when I first joined (1.5 years ago and I was still a noob), this member was a highly respected member with his lovely compositions, but now that it's he's not really who he is, and the music is not his, it's kind of disappointing... :\ But meh, I hope he will one day understand how it feels for your work to be plagiarized.

Noir7
August 22nd, 2006, 07:28 am
Well, since he steals his material... I doubt he'll feel anything once it's stolen from him. (Or.. taken back?)

PFK
August 24th, 2006, 12:56 pm
when and where did he steal Terra's theme? :O

Noir7
August 24th, 2006, 03:04 pm
Long time ago, a year I think? Anyway, he copied the first 40 seconds or so, and then went off with a theme of his own (or was it?).

PFK
August 25th, 2006, 04:59 pm
I really didn't expect him to be like that, although I had the feeling he was using/copying pieces from other pieces when he said he'd never studied any music and he never played an instrument.
But lol, stealing a piece from Terra's theme is kind of crazy I think oO

Sephiroth
August 25th, 2006, 11:33 pm
there's 1 piece on the main site i thought long ago sounded familiar to to zanarkand. it wasnt a direct rip of but the bass stucture is roughly the same in a part of it.

Before I get into anything... I just want to say... Yo Mamas! I already sent an PM to Fuoco about this. Perhaps I'm the crazy one but hear me out. First of all... I checked out that website Fuoco was talking about and all his compositions were posted in the late 2005 or in 2006. I googled WinterWind-NS just to find out if his songs were posted somewhere else in the earlier period of time where it WOULD makes sense that I copied his song. Why would it make sense? Okay, tell me if I'm wrong but didn't I post Disappearing Shadow in 2004 or something? Because I remember specifically that I joined Ichigos family around the time when there was a Christmas song competition and that was definitely not after 2005 or even IN 2005. In fact, I have that song created in December 19th 2003 @ 12:19 pm. So it is possible that I posted Disappearing Shadow in 2003. Now... I already told Fuoco all this and I even told him/her to tell everyone what I said to him/her, but it seems like he/she doesn't want to. The fact that my song sounded like some of WinterWind-NS songs did bother me, but it didn't bother me as much as when people started to Assuuuume that I copied his songs. It was no surprised to me that Noir7 jumped in and started reminiscing about "that" time and call me an idiot. Try to do some research before you (guys) accuse me of something, like check the date. How the hell was I suppose to copy that song if I posted Disappearing Shadow when WinterWind-NS didn't even posted his songs? Anyone got any answers? Anyone? What a drama. If there is anyone who's looking for an apology from me... I'm sorry that you won't get it. If anything I will apologize to WinterWind-NS for this false accusation that delayed whatever he was doing.

Milchh
August 30th, 2006, 01:12 pm
Well, didn't know you've been on THAT long.

Plus, undoubtabely, I would have to side with Fuoco because (I guess) he songs were published-which comes the Opus.

But that might be a lie and might not know what an Opus is.

Anyway, I'm not asking for your apology, and I am not giving one out anyway to anybody-none of this is copyrighted (thinking) in the first place.

Noir7
August 30th, 2006, 02:42 pm
Until I personally hear from WinterWind NS I won't believe what you're saying. The reason is simple; You've ripped off music in the past. And of course I would jump in with *that* incident with Terra's theme, why wouldn't I? It proves that even if you didn't steal WW's music, you sure stole Nobuo's.

Why doesn't he create an account here and explisitly explain the situation? That message very well could have been typed out by anyone. If s/he has access to an e:mail account, then he certainly has a working internet connection. Why would he work through some krunky henchman?

How does it go... The melody of truth shall always arise from an atonal harmony.

This gets better and better. Ok... so he knows me yeah? I was in his "Band" class yeah? If that's the case, then he probably knows where I live or at least the general area. Also... where was this "band" class located anyway? Hopefully it's near my house... otherwise it wouldn't make much sense. Oh and I hope I took that "Band" class too... 'cause it would totally make sense to copy his songs when I have never even been in a "Band" class. Maybe he is talking about a music appreciation class I was once in with _____. (<--- That blank is for the teacher's name just in case you and your friend decide to say that you took that class with me so fill it up homie!) And hopefully he goes to the college that I go to because with his age I wouldn't be so surprised to see him in the "Band" class.

Just a quick thought. Does anyone feel like he/she got... hmmm what's the word... "deceived" by Fuoco? Because obviously everything he said didn't quite add up. But I like him. He keeps me entertained.

I think we can pretty much close this thread unless anyone got anything else to say....

hey, no need to be all unpolite and... well, just close this thread if WinterWind-NS doesn't have to say anything in person. I'd just ignore this Fuoco guy. Someone who doesn't care when others steal his songs is already suspicious enough for me.

If Winterwind doesn't care if yellowmonkey is supposedly ripping off his music, then I say let him have at it. If he does care, he should get his butt on here and put it to rest.

Mazeppa (or whoever posted that) is right, this stuff isnt even copyrighted, so there's no law protecting you from plagiarism. its a risk you take posting your music up here, and its also up to your trust in other's ethical beliefs.

Besides the copyright issue, this thread is going nowhere anyway. Stealing music might be legal at certain circumstances (such as where there is no copyright law) but it's just very, very uncool.
