Posties here^_^ I was reading some posts where woodwinds felt they were being left out of these anime music sheets sites, :heh: I think those sites don't know what brass is let alone trombone (my instrument)
Well for non-brass players what do you play? I also play Oboe.^_^

Yay, another oboist, I personally play (and some of them played) oboe, tuba, piano, alto sax, zheng (Chinese koto thingy), tin whistle and recorder. And yes, finding anime music for these instruments are hard, so if I hear something I like, I'd transcribe it myself. ;)

Wow, impressive. That's a lot of instruments! I'm reminded of a girl I met in NZ who could play 11 when I read that.
I play piano, flute and french horn (yay for brass! ^_^ )

If you can play alto sax, does that mean you can play the rest of them?

Not really, cos they have different transpositions and all that, although the fingerings are the same on most of the variations of them.

ok, do you know if the different clarinet voices are the same way, because a clarinetist told me he could play all of them.

It's highly possible. But we're getting off topic... This is a thread about brass after all... Well, I don't really like brass instruments because of their brassy tone and controlling the harmonic series are annoying... Although I play it cos no one wanted to play tuba in my old school band (but I swear, I'm not gonna touch brass instruments for a reallllly long time). :\

I like brass (especially low pitched ones and/or mellow ones) , but I want to learn how to play other instruments too.

Wow. I guess I've been chosen, by default, to learn and pick up Slide Trombone. It seems like it's just the new ombesure (sp?) with that different mouthpiece. It's a LOT weirder than a double reed instrument ombesure (sp again?) since you buzz your lips, but you keep control of them or something weird.
Anyway, I guess you can call me a Brass Player now. I'm looking forward to get this instrument DOWN this year. :P
