I've only played piano for 2 days now... unfortunately, can't afford a teacher right now :heh: and can't get any method books right now either :bleh: .
The only way I could learn the fingering is from looking on the internet, which I've only found one website that had this information (ehow.com).
I've started with Beethoven's Moonlight sonata- 1st Movement (see sheet music here: http://forums.ichigos.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2951&d=1156687546)
It's an "easy version" that I found online.
I have no idea if I'm fingering it wrong or not (in the right hand) in the first five measures... .
If someone can tell me the fingering for the first five measures, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I've tried "To Zanarkand".

1 - 2 - 3 works the best for me, but I also kinda have "Rachmoninoff" Hand's if you get what I mean.. big hands.
I think in my (actually music) edition it's 1 - 3 - 5, but when it comes to do the melody in the 7ish measures (idc you know what i mean) I switch to 1 - 2 - 3 with those triplets.

>.< Hands hurt after trying the 1-2-3 pattern, but I can do it. Next is trying to play 2 parts in my right hand at the same time. :heh:
Can anyone tell the fingering for To Zanarkand?.... It's even difficult for me in the first 2 measures :heh: .

Try 1-2-4 on Moonlight Sonata, 5-2-1-2-1 on To Zanarkand (I sincerely hope I know what I'm talking about, since I haven't seen the music for To Zanarkand :P)

Are there any specific measures that are giving you trouble?
For the RH in the beginning, I'd try 5-1-2-1-3-24-35. For the LH starting in measure 4, try 5-2-1-4-3-2-135, 5-2-1-2-1-4-2.

Going for To Zanarkand after two days of piano, eh? Wow, that's cool. :)
I used to play BOTH of those songs, but unfortunately I follow my own fingering and just do what feels comfortable, so...Can't really help you there. XD

I've never heard that song, 'To Zanarkand".
Is it like an FF song or something?
(Kinda off-topic, sorry)

Lol, yea that's pretty easy.
Took me about 3-5 times to run through it to get it down to an accecptable point.

In the 1st Movement of "Moonlight Sonata"... I'm having trouble with the 8th measure... (both hands).
See music here: http://forums.ichigos.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2951&d=1156687546
(The cross-staffed note is played with the left hand in this case, right?... )

Yep.
if you have big hands, you can do it with any hand actually, but in this case, it's easier to use your left.. thumb?

Well, it depends on what my hands instinctively position itself.
I find that 1 3 4 or 1 2 4 is a nice fingering for me so my fingers don't feel so confined.

It says 135 on the sheet but 135 feels bloody awkward... i normally do 123 and 124 for those sort of triplets... (i dont use the little finger if i can help it, lol)
i played the full version of MS mov.1 a year ago, and I can still remember how it goes, lol...
