Some of you may have wondered where you fellow Administrator Angelic has been for the past week. Well I have some bad news that I thought you guys might want to know.

Angelic had flu like symptoms at the beginning of the week, and had to stay at home instead of going to his first week at university. However his fever rose to 41 degrees celcius (body temperature is about 36). He was told he had a lung infection.
However I have just had a phone call from his family telling me he is now in hospital. The doctors think he has some bacterial infection but they don't know where. His fever is still at 41 degrees, and he is breathing off a machine. I spoke to him on the phone a couple of days ago, and he couldn't talk for himself very well. He is now sedated in hospital until he gets better.
The doctors say it is quite bad. I don't know when he will get better, but I am trying to phone up the hospital right now.

Just thought you guys might like to know, and maybe leave a few messages of best wishes for him to read when he gets back.

Urrrgh, man, it's shitty feeling that ill - at least being that dosed up he'll be too floaty to care about it much X_X Hope to see him around the place again soon - for all the medical technology in the world doctors still don't know what goes wrong with the body half the time. He's pretty indestructible though so I think he will pull through okay. Thanks for keeping us updated, Spoony - it's good to hear how he's getting on. You and his relatives must be worried sick though, hope you're all looking after yourselves too :\

Man.. you're supposed to do that when you have high fever. What the hell were the nurses doing NOT putting any ice around him? ㄱ-
Its not exactly top of the shelf medical science but you help lower high fevers by putting ice/damp towel on the forehead, in the armpits and around the wrist. (and some other place in the legs that I ain't sure of)

Anyway, that's good news. Anything below 40'c's hella lot more stable than 41. I mean you get temparatures like 40.2 off flu pretty easily, but that doesn't kill you (hopefully not :mellow: ).
You feel shitty, with migraine, cold and all, but you gotta be conscious and alive to feel shitty.

I just rung up his family again today. They said the doctors seem optomistic and they will try to wake him up some time this week (he is still sedated). They don't know what is wrong with him, but they think it's some kind of bacterial infection and that it's starting to fade away now. His temperature is at about 39.9 degrees celcius.
His mum seemed happy when she spoke to me, which is also a good thing ^^

Out of all people to get sick, its ironic that the fierce Angelic got struck down by a possibly bacterial infection. There's no chance for Angelic not to recover, as he will battle the god damn infection with his own will power!

We all are suffering from a disease of AANBS(Absence of Angelic n00b Bashing Syndrome). And the only way it can be cured is for Angelic to get better. So please get better Angelic for the sake of this whole forum and for your girlfriend and also your family. Its been like 20 days without any Angelic bashings. that's around 101...still a fever but that's much better...nice to see angelic's pulling through and soon enough he'll be back to his favorite forum pastime again

More news ^^ His fever is below 38 degrees celcius for the first time today!! And the doctors have ruled out a bacterial cause. Results of blood tests should come either tomorrow or day after - they tested for some viruses or something, I heard. Angelic is still mostly asleep, but they reduced the amount of sleep-inducing drugs during visiting hours so that he can respond by slightly nodding or shaking his head to questions.

^ I just saw this thread too so I hope it's not too late to say I hope and know very much that he will get well soon!!! My brother, whom I say that I hate but deep down I really don't, had gotten bronchitis, they said it was fatal but he got better, and he was only 10 years old!! If he can make it, Angelic can make it! I am just so glad that it's not anything serious. And I feel so bad because I've never even gotten to meet this Angelic before (and I only vaguely recall his name just once which was probably from Spoon's whatever-that-thing-is-called-under-your-username) and now he's sick.. I will make it (one of) my life goal(s) to meet this guy. Some time. Dunno when. I'm so busy. Exams. Grr.
I never really get use to this stuff. The school I had gone to for elementary had something with children that had cancer and since then I haven't felt comfortable with people getting sick.. and then for some reasons my friend has this thing for getting hit by cars.. I think I should delete this.

I've been calling him on the phone every few days, and his voice is very sore. He cannot drink or eat, although occasionally he gets to eat some apple sauce. He can hardly walk because he is very weak, only about a metre, he tells me. His fever is still going up and down.. sometimes it's down to 38 degrees celcius, but yesterday morning it was back up at 40 degrees celcius.
He also phoned me yesterday to say that he is being moved to a different hospital, where hopefully they will have the resources to find out what is wrong with him (no, they STILL don't know).
So yeah... he's stable, very weak, a bit bored in hospital, but he'll get better in time :) A few days ago they thought he would be better in a week, but now they're thinking around 2 weeks at least.

Wow, its almost been a month without Angelic. Man this feels weird, I hope you get better man. But at the least he is making some progress to the path of healing. I say we should all pray. It must be pretty frustrating feeling so weak when previously being able to walk anywhere and do anything he wanted. Once they find out what needs fixing I reckon it won't be too long after that they'll feel able to send him home - it sounds like it's going to be a long convalescence for him and he'll be happier doing it at home. The diagnosis is the main stumbling block really - once they have that things will start moving faster :)

Okays it has been over a month since Angelic has been sick and off the forum as well. Come on Angelic hang get better. You need to come back soon, I hope and so do many other people here do as well. I just pray that the doctors will at least figure out what's wrong with you sometime soon.

Things seem to be going well! The scariest thing about prolonged fevers is they can kill brain cells, resulting in all kinds of bad things, but if he is talking and answering questions I think he'll be fine.

Well, I text message him and call him every few days. ^^ I keep forgetting what I said here though, lol. He started eating for the first time the other day. Something like half a sandwich for a meal. And he's starting to get better at walking. He needs one of those things that old ladies use, but he's getting better ~ His temperature is still high-ish, it goes up and down between 37 and 39 degrees. And they still don't know what's wrong with him! He said a few days ago that they might have some leads on what's wrong, something to do with some bacteria in his heart (don't ask me how it would have got there), but they haven't found out anything else. And he has to have a blood transfusion because his blood level is pretty low (probably from all the tests they're doing on him).
But yeah.. slow progress, but they don't know what's wrong. ^^ He's just sitting around in hospital getting bored. I might send him a package in a few days (including end of Ouran High School Host Club, mwahaha).

This is very bad news, it must be horrible for such an unconfortable and potentially dangerous infection to come out of the blue like this.

Although, it seems that he's making recovery. ^_^

Sounds like they're just keeping him in for testing - no wonder he's bored! Good idea to send a care package, it'll make the waiting around a little less dull. Sometimes these things do just spring up out of nowhere and nobody's seen anything like it - they can't keep him in there forever. The most important thing is that he himself is getting over whatever it is that got at him :)

Hey so I was thinking, wouldn't it be really cool of us if we put together a bit of a get well/welcome back package for him?

We could get some money together and send it over to Spoonpuppet so she can buy and post something to him. I have no idea what would be a good amount, but if we all threw in a buck or two I think we could get him something fun to help kill the boredom, or to welcome him back. Spoony, any ideas about what he might want? Maybe even a gift card so he can get exactly what he wants.

I'm open to suggestions, but I think a good way to do this would be to use the Ichigo's paypal account, putting "angelic" or something in the description so I know it's for him, then I could send Spoon the money once we have enough.

Today he had surgery so they could take some tissue from his arm for testing. Nothing serious, the surgery wasn't supposed to fix anything. His fever remains at around 38 degrees, and his heartbeat is at twice the rate it should be for a resting person. He's starting to walk better now, they're giving more treatment for his muscles; and he's almost able to eat properly again. He can eat solids now, but just quite slowly.
Oh.. and.. hm.. they're letting him go home for the weekend, since he's been stuck in that room for so long... sooo... who knows. ^^

And Bombom! Get that sig shrunk now!! :P

So glad! I can rest easily now.

Nope, all the tests ended up negative. Actually, his fever pretty much disappeared while he was gone too, lol. I bet the machines at the hospital are just broken :P

Either that or it's something that can only survive in the hospital. As clean as a hospital is, there ARE bacteria/viruses that have adapted to the surrounding(in this case, the hospital)

Today they left me out of the hospital. They have no idea or whatsoever of what i had, so I'll just put my money on that I somehow caught an unknown virus (at least around here) and that made me ill. Of course, I could be completely wrong here but I'll just keep it on that, since it started off with a really bad flu (or at least flu symptons) and then it became so bad that I had to be on the intensive care for two weeks.

I don't remember much of what happened then, if anything at all. It's just a black gap in my memories in which I had a lot of dreams. A lot of them really twisted and scary, some of them actually based on my surroundings in the hospital. After about one and a half week I woke up and the first time I asked someone for the date it was already the 22nd. Of the previous month that is, but it quite shocked me. I spent some more time on the IC, and then got transferred to another department in the hospital. Since they still didn't know what was going on they decided to send me to another hospital, where I spent about 4 weeks. Test were done, blood was taken and examined but that hospital also didn't find anything, while I was getting better slowly on my own, and this week they decided that I'm in good enough shape to leave the hospital, and so we can say that I have returned. Whoohoo.

No, it's the most logical explanation I can think of myself since the hospital can't really give me anything. I didn't think up anything, I'm just saying it's the most logical thing. Bacteria can be found in blood, a virus can't be found, they can only look for anti bodies against certain virusses. If they don't have the tests to look for certain anti bodies they won't find them, so if it was an unknown virus they would not have been able to find it. That's what I think anyway, but again, I could be completely wrong.
