I've heard so many new rumors lately I don't know WHAT to believe. Information at ANIMENEWS tell readers that there is hope because hollywood is getting the rights to make a sailor moon live action movie. They are the ones who bought transformers that is due out next year I believe. Is there hope? Will this bring back the anime?

Still a SM fan for ever and always - brittany -

Not all live actions suck (for example Hana Yori Dango). Just the ones that host the super natural. And I don't really think Hollywood would create a Movie off of Sailor Moon from scratch. It's be a port of an already sucessful show in Japan (example The Grudge). Sailor Moon Fandom has died off in the past couple of years, mainly due to CCS, Lyrical Nanoha, and other brilliant Mahou Shoujo (magical girl) series.

As much as I respect Sailor Moon, I doubt it will be released in the US. If not for the reasons above, it would be because the director (I believe it was Ju'ichi Sato) would rip off the heads of the US producers. The first two series were already slaughtored by DiC (Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R), and I think he that he will never allow the license to be moved from Japan ever again. An example of this is how Sailor Stars was never released in america. The rumors around the net says it was because the series had some "questionable sexual tendencies". Let me point it out: Every Sailor Moon series has a GREAT deal of sexual tendencies. It's a Shoujo for heavens sake! You're going to see some Yaoi, Bishounen, and pro'lly some incest too (and any other "Forbidden Love" you can think of)... But, truth be told, it was actually because the director wouldn't sell the license to America.

BTW, the entire sailor moon license in america was terminated in July of 2005. Meaning it is legal to download fansubs again (if you can find them).
