I was wondering if someone had already requested this piece (the one Tamaki played for Kyouya's brothers - it's also in the last ep, when he plays for Eclaire). It sounds like it might be an actual classical piece (Chopin?), so if someone can identify it, that would be helpful too.

Thanks in advance~

Haha, yeah, I did get my hopes up a little when I saw that someone replied, but it's nice to know other people are looking for it too =) I'd post a sound file up, but couldn't find the piece in the OSTs... more reason to think it's an actual classical piano piece now.

Yep, that Tamaki song has high chances of being a "real" classical piece. Tamaki's first piano song (episodes 6 & 15) is actually a Mozart 2 piano sonata, K448 (and he can play the 4 hands alone?!).

But if it isn't, then there's bound to be a third OST and/or character songbook. Because some of the songs including the guitar sequence that sounds sometimes before the ending Shissou and the final waltz remix of Sakura Kiss are not on any OST yet.

Meh, I'm deviating from the subforum's topic here ... Yeah, I'd like to know which piece that is, too!

for those interested, this is a post I found on another forum about this piece:

"Everyone wants to know this. Some people even made the assumption that it was a Chopin piece due to similarities. I agree the styles were similar, but it was definately not Nocturne in E-flat Major, Op 9, No 2 as someone posted on Wikipedia. So I went and wrote the music director Yoshihisa Hirano for some answers and this is the reply I recieved:

Actually, the piece you are curious about is NOT one of Chopin's Nocturnes. That is my own composition in Chopin style! I composed music to the "Ouran series" under the idea of "parody of classical music in the different periods". That is to say, I applied different compositional styles and techniques of classical music to write music to "Ouran". So I understand that some people believe that piano piece is one of Chopin. Because it is certainly composed in Chopin style.
I needed to compose the elegant, and sad piece that expresses the unhappy background of Tamaki, who always behaves artlessly. And as long as he plays it on the piano, I thought the piece must sound just like a composition of the romanticist. (It is obviously ridiculous if Tamaki played a pop song-like-music to express himself as he is.)

Well, I indeed want all the audience to know that piece is my own composition applying Chopinistic musical language although I consider that is a kind of my musical jeux.

Actually, it is untitled. I entitle pieces on a soundtrack CD, but unfortunately that piece was composed and recorded just for the episodes 24,25 and 26 AFTER the Ouran sound track CD was out. Thus I didn't get a chance to entitle it.... What a shame!

Hope that clears it up! I'm a bit sad that it most likely won't ever be available, but who knows. Maybe it'll appear in an anniversary CD, or in the extras section of the DVD release.

Y"

... I was hoping that it would be an actual classical piece so that it would be easy to find the sheet music to it =( At least this clears things up.

Good find man. I guess if someone was really into transcribing it they'd have to do it from the clip.

Hmmm it seems I couldn't resist after all ...

I'm done with Tamaki's unreleased piano song. I used episode 25 as a template, so I named the unnamed song "Eclair He No Tamaki", for "Tamaki To Eclair". A little too specific for a title, but meh ... as long as the song is there, right?

I sent it to josh, who'll probably put it up during his next website update. But here's for people who can't wait ... my treat!

Enjoy!

N.B. A note for Ouran fans: there are other Ouran songs on josh's website, both from josh and myself!

Hum, the piano Tamaki played in ep 15 was a part of the Mozart piano sonata 448. He played one part, because this piece is ment to be for 4 hands (aka 2 people). I believe someone had already pointed this out.

Btw, I was really amused with the Eclair he no Tamaki, because it really sounds somewhat like Chopin.
