I have no idea what or where or when yet, but of course that's what this thread is for. For food I was thinking of Wagamama or whatever it's called, since they serve Japanese food with chopsticks. Fun fun fun and it tastes good too. Other than that, ideas please. Meeting place could be the Bullring bull statue, every brummy knows to find that and if you're not from Birmingham just ask a random Brummy. Not the ones that come in your direction though because before you know it they get you to take a stress test and you don't want that. Anyway:

Things to do:

Wagamama - Japanese/modern style noodle restaurant. If you have an account with Studentbeans.com, they might be having a 2 for 1 deal ~
Christmas German market - They have this biiiig market with loads of stalls, and it's really nice to walk through and have a look, even if you're not buying anything.
Bullring - Like in Selfridge's food court, and the edible worms.... ^^ And other shops in there too ~
Forbidden Planet - Yes, Brum has one too!! Okay, so it's not so shiny as the one in London...

Meeting place: Probably in New Street station, so people don't have to go searching for the bullring, lol. Make sure that you go through the MAIN entrance and not the Victoria Square one.

Date: I think Angelic's coming on 19th December? So hopefully soon after that. Like 21st, I don't know. Saves me/us having to go back to Spoonsville from Brum several times over the holiday.

I've had a think about the whole thing and I'm afraid I'm gonna have to pass up on the meetup this time I'm afraid - even though I don't know the person whose 21st it is that well, it looks like a lot of my old schoolfriends are coming to the 21st party and I want to meet up with them again. They're all going out in the evening after ice-skating which means I'd be staying overnight, and it's scheduled for the 21st December so it'll clash with the meetup. In addition this is all a bit close to Christmas and I want to have a bit of time with my family beforehand. I'll be up for another summer meetup though :) Sorry guys - it's just all too close together so I can't fit everything in.

Manchester is a good city I guess, but most of us are down in London. It takes like 3hours to get to manchester by train.

The main reason why we dont' go there is because if you're going to make it a city that not many people know of, it's really hard to organise. If you're the only one in manchester, its necessary that YOU turn up to direct everyone whereas london (around 7 people) or birmingham (4 people if you inc Ang), there's more leaway for attendance.

It turns into a disaster if you're not organised.

New street station, is a large place. you wanna be more specific, such as just after the ticket checkers.(wide open bit, can't miss it)

Yeah, past the ticket "barriers" which are actually just people in a uniform of sorts just talking over all the passing people and not actually looking at your ticket :P There's some escalators right in front you with a Burger King to the right of it. Just wait around in that area.

Oh, and I reiterate: If you're on a B platform (so 4b, 7b etc.), make sure you go out the MAIN entrance and NOT the Victoria Square one. If you're still confused, just follow the crowd.

so when i went to the London meet in the summer i knew there were 2 people for definate who i knew weren't dodgy. and luckily we had no 40 year old man turning up with a white van so yeah =P

but to be honest, as long as there are a group of us, it's okay. unlike if you just met someone one on one from the net- i would strongly advise against that unless you know for a fact you can trust them.

Yup, as a group it is much safer. For general meeting-up-saftey, try to get hold of picture(s) of some/all of the people you're meeting with, and make sure somebody (like a friend or a parent) knows where you are. Then you can keep them up-to-date about where you are.
