Well, nobody else has seemed to make a "Eureka Seven" thread yet so I will do it.

Im not really sure what to say about the show, and I've only seen like 25+ episodes of it. But I do think like the story pretty much.

Anybody else seen it, if you have please make a comment about it, if you haven't then watch it. It now comes on CN like at 12:30 or 1:00. But if you don't like the subs I guess you could go youtube or something. But if you start like midway into the series then you'll most likely get lost.

Rentaru's whines more than Squall in FFVIII. The Nervash's true power is underscreened, and what the hell ever happened to cute anime girls?! It's like Iwaki from Rizelmine meets Mech' meets Windy Tales meets Surfing meets Techno meets...

All in all, the series isn't all that bad. I lost my interest a third of the way into it for, well, the lack of an interesting story. While a lot of things come together (or at least attempt to) at the end, they started the main story arc too far into the series.

Well, I like it. I hadn't seen all the episodes yet because my cable went out for a few months but it's on now (couldn't pay the bill normally due to family problems). From what I seen, it's a good show to watch but yeah, Renten whines almost as much as Shinji. I do agree that the main story came a little late. Too many "Renten's Misadventures" for me.

It was ok, not really mind-blowing or anything. There was a lot of filler, especially early on, that really held the show back and it felt a bit too much like an Eva-wannabe.

Is the manga better then? I kinda like the series but I'm not sure if I should invest in it. Hasn't won me over yet.

The series is pretty good. Kinda takes you back to the whacky world of Evangelion.

I really liked this anime. I did dislike how a lot of the story is held back until the later episodes with random bits thrown into the beginning. I thought it was ok until the episode where Renton ran away. After that, it really started to pick up on the storyline. It does have some fillers in the later episodes but overall, it has a lot more story. There are several websites that allow you to download full episodes and manga. I hated how friggin boring the trailer was. The second half is definitely a lot better than the first.
I will try to post more l8ter.

I agree the second half is better. I thought the soccer episode was pretty funny. Where everyone was soccer because they thought that it might help them get through the gate But the show is in its last episodes. Around 10 to 12 to go.

The soccer one is hilarious. Which episode are you on? Did you understand what Brittanee was doing in mine? The last episode has a weird ending lol. Actually, they have a different reason for playing soccer. They were just following Norbu's instructions. It was hilarious when Stoner and Hap are trying to figure out his reasoning.

pianocrazy90
February 9th, 2007, 03:29 am
Yeah, I knew they were doing that. I knew Norbu said to play soccer but when he said at the end of the episode well it helped get you guys some team work. Man, I wonder how the people on the Gecco State ship felt about that. But Holland did say they would come back later for a re-match against the team they lost to.

Oh, Im sorry, but im following the Adult Swim showing of the episodes. My computer doesn't do well with Youtube and the whole downloading episodes and stuff. So I just watch what little anime that actually comes on cartoon network. Man, Ive been trying to get Anime Network and the Funimation Channel. But they just aren't in my area. And no I do not live in Canada. (Because in case you thought "Well, he's in a place where you can't get either of those channels so he must live in Canada." I live in NC, not Canada.

lol i hate youtube especially since the audio has a slight lag. I usually got to the library at the CSU (Colorado State University) and download stuff there since they have highspeed internet.:heh: They played soccer for a different reason. actually it was just to have fun :heh:

The first part of the series is, well, kind of boring sometimes. But it gets very good at the end imo :)

Edit: ohh I forgot to mention that I really wanted to punch the main chara Renton really really really hard in the first 30 episodes or so... he just... keeps on whining.. -_-

i already finish seeing all epidodes, there 50 episodes in all. i would say its pretty good. its a romance/action/fantasy anime.

The last episode was awesome. Yeah i have seen all 50 episodes as well. I hate the trailer for it though. If I had not been told that it was a good series, i would not have started watching it. I almost gave up the series until about episode 11-18 (it's been a while since i watched it a month ago but I have started to watch again) it now when it actually began to start the storyline. Some parts of the storyline are a bit awkward like the part about the miner Brittannee.
Does anyone understand what he is doing and who his son is?
Otherwise this is one of the best anime series i have ever seen and that is really saying something.

XD Oh... Know I get what you're saying. . .

Hmm, who's your favorite character? Mine would have to either be Eureka or Talho. ^_^

pianocrazy90
March 5th, 2007, 02:12 am
Well, mine would be either Renton or "Moon Doggie" (I can't remember if thats his real name or a nick name.) Aww, the shows almost over. Just about 7 more episodes to go. Its like Fullmetal Alchemist revisited (Episode and time of the year wise.)

Apparently that is his real name. Everyone calls him Moondoggie. My favorite character would have to be Eureka, Renton, Charles, Woz, or Norbu. lol yeah i really liked the show so i like pretty much all of the characters except for Holland who is extremely immature at times. A lot of people like Dominic as well. I hate the manga. they based it off the anime! They really messed up Eureka, Renton can't lift on a regular board, and the story is not nearly as good as the anime.

yeah no problem. If you are bored, you can read it but i suggest the anime since that is what the manga is based off of. Question, what did Adrock do to make himself so important? Does anyone understand what Brittannee was doing?

Adrock was one of the three scientsists that found Eureka and the Nirvash in that...place. I forget where it was exactly. He was also with Eureka when the Seven Swell first began to occur. Apparently, it was going to destroy the world and so he removed the Compac Drive, pseudo-killing himself in the process. I don't know, I didn't really understand how the phenomenon was such a threat at that time.

As for Britannee, I think he was just trying to find something amazing and valuable in the mine to take back to his son.

Oh thanks! Yeah ok. The Seven Swell is such a dangerous thing since like in the first episode, it has the power to annihilate klfs and LFOs. When Ray got too close to it, she became unable to have kids. Also, in the first episode i think they give other details about it.(or is it in the manga? lol) The Seven Swell also cut off most of the telephone and communication lines i have to re-watch the anime :heh: and then post back when i find more details.

I talked with my friend and he said that he liked the anime more than the manga but he still liked the manga. I have read the first 4 books. It is totally different from the anime. I don't like it a lot but that is just personal preference. It is ok if you have watched all of the anime and have nothing to do but i like the anime a lot lot more. It gives a different explanation for Adrock's death as well lol. He was killed by Dewey Novak, Hollands brother! Yeah. Meh... ... the manga is just so different. There are also some new characters! Yeah E7 is definitely one the best anime series i have ever seen.

lol nice qoute.. seems familiar. lol nice avatar.

Yeah, I've read some of the plot details about the manga and it doesn't seem as good as the anime so I've decided to spend my money on other mangas. (Or is it just manga?)

that1player
March 23rd, 2007, 04:53 pm
Yeah it really isn't as good as the anime but it is decent. It does give certain details that aren't part of the anime. like in episode 32, the name of the light that appears after they catch the board isn't given but in the manga, it is called the Light of Kings. I bought book four but the first three can be downloaded at anime eden. Manga is both plural and singular apparently. I have never heard it called mangas for plural. Most people say i bought a lot of manga or i spent money on other manga. You could say other mangag series. all preference though.

Edit:
Sorry I said that Moondoggie was his real name but it isn't. While watching the anime, I caught the part where he shows his piloting license and I saw that in the license, his name is James Darren Emerson. Sorry for potting bad info.

MordorFires nice avatar. Nice quote ... hmmm.. seems familiar.

Oh yeah thats Moondogies real name. I forgot the name, because its been a while since the show mentioned it. But its sorta weird when Renton keeps calling him "Brother". I mean Moondogie (Im calling him that for easy reference) did help him out earlier, but its still weird.

I think the singular and plural of manga are the same. You wouldn't going around saying mangas now would you. I've never heard manga referred to as mangag before. But you know when deer is both singular and plural, so I think is or should be the same. Um sorry, this sorta sounds like a grammar lesson. Sorry about getting off topic.

Hey I see you've added on another Eureka Seven quote. Good work! I forget who said the first quote you have. Was it Holland that said it?

No it was Diane, Renton's sister, then Renton, then I think it was Holland.lol doesn't matter anyways. Yeah i might be adding some more quotes that I like from Eureka SeveN. Hey can anyone explain how Dewey got that Compac stuck in his chest?

I like this anime; it has a pretty good plot, although it's ridiculously confusing. However, it's fillers are, frankly, just plain awful. I have some friends for whom the fillers ruined the show entirely.

yeah when I first started watching the show I was confused and didnt really like the show, but something kept me watching it. Now I think I get it, but not sure. Some filler epis were weird but they had meaning to them, in a way.

Eureka Seven is my all-time favorite anime. It's a masterpiece. You HAVE to watch the entire series to get the most out of it. The whole point of the anime is character development, so if you just watch the first 20 or so episodes, you won't be getting too much out of the anime.

And what do you mean fillers? This anime series compared to others barely have any killer fillers.

M
August 7th, 2007, 12:34 pm
It's full of fillers, the characters just whine (see ep 6-35), there isn't development, and the overall story is scattered so much Hideaki Anno would be proud (If he can still think right in the head). Did I mention character design sucks? I downcast my eyes when I think that bones did the animation of many grander looking anime, and then look at this. Bones... you've disappointed me.

While the mecha are quite original (and pro'lly the only aspect I find unique and good), I can't help but fall back saying it's an Evangelion unit 01 cross Surfing (Which is clearly what they were intending). The overall "feel" of the anime is immature. I think only delinquents would find this feel enjoyable.

It still amazes me when people go around spouting that Eureka seveN is awesome. It's not even near a recommend-like status! It's just par. At best.

I'm currently transcribing a bunch of songs from the OSTs. You can find some of the ones I've completed in the "Sheet Music Requests" section.

This is my most favorite anime ever. Such great qualities, animation, plot, music, and character-wise.
