^What?
I look at the sheet. I've been playing so long that I really know the feel of the keyboard well. When I know the music I tend to play with my eyes closed. Looking at the keys usually makes me mess up.

Am I sightreading, or performing with the music?
I keep my eyes on the music, though I don't actually read the music.

This is just coming from me, since I usually just stare at the music. I know my piano like the back of my hand. Once you get the feel of the keys, sheet all the way. You'll have no reason to be staring down at your fingers. Your fingers will know the way.
But if you're still a novice and don't know where your keys are, you should be looking at the keys. And the sheet music. At the same time.

My fingers are stupid T_T
I usually look especially the keys, then when I look at the sheet... I can't find where am I XD
I look rarely at the sheet. When I play something many times, I remember all of it.

I find that if i relax and trust my hands, they'll know where to play providing iv'e memorised the music.
For new pieces or pieces that i havent spent much time on i'll focus on the music sheets. Otherwise i look at the keys all the time.

I just glance at one or two bars, try to memorize them, and then look at the piano...I'm better at memorization than reading music, actually...especially for piano. I find it hard to read two staffs at once...

more or less i'm like July's style.. i keep on looking at the keys while playing it over and over again until i've memorized that measure until i get the whole piece
i've read a book that says something about it's more important to learn from the line not the note name, somehow i can understand what it said

I look at the sheet music cause I've played piano for a while and I know where the heys are. I agree with methodx's ...well, method if your are a novice.

Both. I will jump back and forth, but on a song that I don't know well I will look at the sheet more.

I'm horrible at sight reading on piano, so i tend to go really slowly, one or two bars at a time. When its a piece I have memorized, I'm usually looking at the keys too. I guess I kinda have a feel for the keys with my right hand, but I'm always staring at my left hand, especially when finishing an arpeggio(sp?) and then having to jump back down to the other end to start another one
i really need to work on sight reading

I feel sort of like an odd man out. Everyone looks at the keys, but that is the last place I would ever look if I was playing the piano.

haha, i wish i could play without looking at the keys, then maybe i'd be able to sight read a little

@Original Post - Me, the keys mostly. I know it's not good, but when I look at the keys I see what I'm playing, and I tend to remember things and pick-up everything better that way.
Better slowly than messy I say.

Before I play I study the keys and get a feel of how my hand will flow. Then, I study the notes and take in triplets, accents and creschendos/diminuendos. Finally I play focusing on the sheet and memorise it as I pla so I don't need to look at the keys or the sheet.

Yeah, I'm not very good at sight reading because I want to look at the keys. When I do get something memorized, though, I don't have to look at the keys or the sheet music.

I stare at the sheet (or where its supose to be)... and sneak a few looks on the keyboard if there are large leaps... though in general... i really dont know what i'm looking at ^^" lol

Recently, I've been looking at the music much, much more. I'm guessing it's because I've picked up another instrument. But still I'm somewhere in between looking at the keys and sheet. I guess it just depends...
